Q:

JSB kings and AA pellets- there is a difference..

Ive heard people say these pellets are basically identical. Even on pyramydairs website they show pictures of each pellet and they are identical. Ive heard some say AA has a different lead formulation and that is the difference. Well the difference is more obvious to me than that..
I have a tin of Air Arms Field, and if you look up the skirt of the pellet its a conical punch. I just received 3 tins of Jsb Kings today and all the kings are flat punched in the skirt?! Even the picture on PA website shows the Kings with a conical punch…
Nomadic Pirate has brought attention to this same difference being with the new/old benjamin domed pellets.
Are you guys’ JSB Kings conical or flat punched in the skirt?

both shoot same poi out to 200yds at 940fps so it doesnt make a bit of difference to me 😀 😀

Its odd it doesn’t make a big difference. Some of those field target guys who roll, weigh, size their pellets say they notice differences from the slightest inconsistency of any of those factors. You’d think the type of skirt punch would make a noticeable difference in poi or something.

Yes, like others, I’ve seen both styles in the Kings. The AA and Kings do seem a shade different in color which, like some have said, may indicate a slight difference in formulation of material used. With that said, they both shoot awesome and I’ll use either without hesitation.

I’ve had the JSB king both in flat and conical. Both shot about equal.

I have had both. The ones I most recently bought were conical..
