Q:

What’s your go to rifle?

My go to rifle is my .22 Cricket Rifle. It’s super accurate has amazing features and is not too expensive. I shoot from anywhere from 10 yards to 100 yards with no issues if the wind isn’t terrible and I put in the effort my self as the shooter. I just got my stock back from being hydro dipped today. I got an amazing new scope on her; Schmidt Bender 12-50×56 PMII. I’ll keep this one for a long time hehe.

Go to gun,
easy to grab, = short, = light weight, Holds air forever, Fast on point.
You gentlemen are talking about a 22 Mutant,
The dam thing sets on my top shelf of the gun safe on the pistol holder side,
Grab it and go,
Mike

Go to rifle is my Daystate Airwolf MCT Tactical .25 with Huggett and Hawke Sidewinder Tactical 6.5-20X42. Super quiet, hits hard with pinpoint accuracy, dozens and dozens of consistent regulated shots per fill. That’s not to say that my TT TSS .22 has ever let me down though .

I had a 22 cricket carbine that was a tack driver kinda sad I let it go. The length was too damn long!

.22 RAW leave it loaded in shop, aimed at crows landing

quick fill up for pesting around the yard. Not too many pests around, so I would only need a few shots at a time. HiPac 2250 has a perfect amount of air.

Yep, that’s the plan- to sleeve the barrel to stiffen it. But I’ll be doing that on the Discovery build. Whenever that is.

What is this gun’s primary mission?

Sleeve the barrel? So, you are placing the sleeve over the barrel to stiffen it?

A HiPac is a quick way to convert from CO2 to HPA. There are kits for Crosman 22xx guns, and QB rifles.

I’ve been looking for an Ultra for a while. Either I don’t have the money when I find one, or when I have the money, I can’t find one… I was looking for a .22 Ultra, w/MMC that uses magazines. I finally got tired of looking, so I built one from mostly spare parts. I had to buy a few things to get the carbine where it is now though. The good part is that it’s all American parts, except for the scope… I’ll be building a “FX Tarantula” sometime down the road… A Disco, w/a nice brass trigger and 2 screw mod, conversion to .20 cal, a breech riser, w/1″ LDC that’s flush w/the main tube, tuned for 12 fpe, regulated. I’m also going to sleeve the barrel w/carbon fiber to try to squeeze a bit more accuracy out of it. Of course, there will also be a stock change. Should be a relatively quick, fun project.

So why is the Ultra so elusive?

What is a HiPac? (I need some education.)

If I had a better camera (just phone), I would take a pic of the whole thing!! I was basing the 2250 build off of an Ultra- that ever elusive Ultra  It is HPA, It’s got a HiPac, w/a frankenvalve in it… I only charge her up to 1600 psi though… Not too many shots, but shot count isn’t what I built her for!

That is a very sexy carbine, Caboose. It reminds of the BSA Ultra. Is that an HPA gun? You should post complete pic. That gun deserves it. Good for you and thanks for sharing.

Just updated my go-to a bit, here’s some pics… Don’t mind the mess!! I’ve been slapping a lot of projects together!

I shortened my barrel. Everything else is pretty much the same. I’ve also put a scope on there. Just a cheapo RWS one. Works fine.

It used to have a 14″ barrel, I’ve now put a 10″ barrel on it. To do that, I had to raise the breech up, to clear the tube. Balance is pretty sweet, even w/such a light carbine!

Man, those Air Arms rifles sure are sweet!!!

Hi Matt, you have really moved up to some quality. Good for you!

My go-to gun is my AirArms S410 in .22 with the Bushnell Legend 5-15X42mm.

This pic was taken before I bought the Legend:

Yes it is Ben. Sending mine out real soon….

Zonk

Right now my go to is a .177 compact cricket – it can easily handle anything suburbia can serve up. But…. I’m easily distracted by shiny objects so it will likely be something else soon. I’m wavering on building vs selling my Rapid70 prod kit. If it comes to fruition it will likely take the spotlight for a while.

That camo cricket rifle at the start of the thread is bad ass.

Ben
