Q:

Replacing Breech O-ring, Questions

I know that this is a very basic question and has been answered before but I cannot seem to find anything in the Search.
I want to replace the two o-rings with duro90’s. What is the procedure? I notice on the valve side there is a rubber piece in front of the o-ring. Should I try to remove that or just work over it?
Sorry for such a newbie question.

That’s exactly what I use. It has a permanent home in my Air Force tool kit. To reinstall, I have 2short pieces of wooden dowel. I fold the “o”ring into the breech and push with the dowel then insert the other piece from the other end and sandwich the “o”ring between them. Then just slide it into the machined groove.

I just used a seal pick to get the old ones out. I used the funny shaped one like the one below.
You can get these at most auto parts stores.

Not sure about any rubber piece in front of the “o”ring on either end of the breech. Neither my factory or aftermarket breeches have anything in them except the “o” rings.
Got a picture????
