Q:

Great White Refill?

I just bought a great white tank for my 25 cricket. It worked great until it reached 3000 psi. At this point the fill is extremely slow. Is this the point I should refill or do you think I can get more fills to my cricket?

You must be a sales man for the Cricket .25 :smilen:
All I know is I came from springer’s to the Marauder and said WOW, then I was kind of talked into the Cricket 22 from the P12,(lucky me) and then I said wow wow wow .
This hobby gets expensive,
As they told me on the Marauder list, and at the time I did not understand the Marauder is just a stepping stone,
Mike

My Cricket could be described as average. Never been tuned. I also had a .25 marauder this time last year.
Consider your marauder sold. The cricket .25 surpasses the Marauder .25 in every way. It does everything better. It makes shooting more enjoyable. I think it even makes vermin deader :biggrinn:
Granted, its bigger than the standard Cricket, but its no problem to swing up to your shoulder and make a starling EXPLODE. I even have a big Optisan Viper scope, and giant 17-36″ Vanguard bipod on mine and still carry it barrel down by the grip and take standing shots with it.

Just like you guys said , I grab the Cricket 99% of the time. I can grab the cricket swing it up on the tri pod and shoot pretty fast,
I still have to baby the Marauder, If I bump it or do not take a little extra time with my shot , I will miss my sparrow,
If the 25 Cricket shoots any think like the 22 Cricket, The 25 Marauder will be sold,,,
Mike

Mike, do you still shoot your M-rod or do you find yourself grabbing your Cricket more often?

Yea, Oil field boom here everyone wants to get rich, We even pay more for our gas here and produce it local to, Its down to 3.39 a gallon lowest its been in a long time,
I fill my air tank up at a big oil field safety place…
Fire Dept. said no way, Its a safety issue ,
I know at the cost it cost to fill my tank it would not take long to buy my own compressor,
But 50 to 60 shots with a 25 Cricket at around 950 FPS , That would make my Marauder obsolete.. Just saying..,.
Mike

$32.49. WOW that sure sounds high. Around here it’s about $15.00 but it’s a 100 mile drive so a Shoebox was the way to go for me. I love it.

Zonk

Thanks for the information.

Yea you need a small shop compressor. For around $100 you can get a decent one. Ive got a pancake 6gal porter cable compressor I got for $40 at lowes, scratch and dent special. It works well. I’d recommend at least 5gal compressor if your going to go the shoebox route because any smaller a compressor kicks on a lot. I tried a 2.5gal compressor, it kicked on so often it wouldn’t have the time to cool down and I feared it would over heat.

I take the tank to my local fire house. They can only fill to 4300. I would like a fill station like the freedom 8 but don’t you have to purchase a compressor to make it work?

I get my great white filled to 4500 or just a little above, Its 32.49 no matter what the pressure of the tank reads, I get a whole lot of fills with the Cricket and a bunch of shooting, The air goes a little faster when I start shooting the 25 Marauder, I would say, I get 50 fills easy, I am just guessing , I get a refill when the gauge starts reading about 2800 psi…
I got the piggy bank out and saving up for either a compressor or a 25 Cricket or a .30 if they release them ,
If Zonk lived a little closer I could use his compressor

I’d say dozens at least. I never really counted since I have a Freedom 8. It gets low you fill it, simple as that. Do you have yours filled or do you own a compressor?

Zonk

You can tell how new I am to air guns. I thought you could drain the air to empty. Zook, how many fills do you get with refilling at 3500?

I never let my great white tank get below 3500 psi. When it gets there I just hook up to the Freedom 8 and refill. Even at that pressure I can tell it takes longer.

Zonk

Mine does the same thing. That’s where I usually I take it in and top it off.
