I use the .223 for both my .22&.25
It’s tough to pull through either barrel, works good.
i too had wondered this question myself.
so use a .223 bore snake on a 22 barrel. is there any for 25 cal that will fit? just curious
When you cut the brass off the end, be sure to melt or put a dab of glue at the tip of the rope or it will slightly unravel, and that could give you a little resistence when feeding. I rubbed a little glue on the end and it sealed and stiffened the tip.

Not at all.. slides right through. You obviously have to remove the shroud. Its very quick and easy to feed through the barrel though.

Is it hard to feed into the barrel of your cricket with the brass tip removed?
Ive been using the exact same method as Octavius on my Cricket. Works awesome. I use a .223 bore snake with the brush removed. Ballistol and bore snake.. all you need.
I´m using boresnake .22 with brass removed for my cricket for one year without problem. The advantage using a boresnake 2 or 3 times and barrel is clean. With cotton towel you have to use many pieces of towel to proper clean barrel. I usually apply Balistoll on borsnake and do 3 times cleaning process. When I want to be sure if the barrel is clean I do check process with clean white towel through the barrel. When it come clean barrel is clean :biggrinn:

I have only cleaned my Benchmark 22 competition airgun barrel once with a wire brush. It was on a swivel rod and I was super careful not to be too aggressive. I wrapped a small patch around it so I could see if and when I had removed any type of lead build up from the bore.
There was really nothing in there that a couple patches coated with WD40 didn’t remove.
WD40 is awesome for cleaning the barrel btw.
I use a redneck boresnake, a length of weed wacker cored with the end melted and mushroomed into a ball that is just smaller than the bore with two patches on it. The end I feed through the bore is cut to a point so I can skewer the patches. I use a length of straw to get through any air strippers or mods attached to the end of the barrel.
For the price of a boresnake I can buy a l’fetime supply of boresnakes made from weed wacker cord. 
And if the multishot ED has an o-ring in the barrel then definetely don;t use the wire part of anything unless you remove that o-ring. My single shot ED doesn’t have an o-ring there. I don’t own a multi-shot ED. Yet… 😕
I had a snake break off in a really accurate .17 cal pb barrel. It broke in two places and couldn’t be knocked out. I had to buy a new barrel. My remaining snakes got tossed in the creek!
Most guys like em, and the horror stories like mine are few, but I’d definetly never use another.
Also depends on model. The multishot models have an o-ring in the breach that would likely get trashed by the wire brush. Single shot models don’t.
Use of a bronze wire brush in an airgun seems to be kind of a religious issue. Seems to me even relatively soft steel is harder than bronze wire, but a lot of folks think the wire could do damage to the barrel.
I would not use the standard bore snake on the barrel.

In past I bought on Ebay thin wire with two loop on both ends. It cost couple of €. So, now I stick one loop into the barrel from front. When It is on end I see loop near the magazine gap. I insert boresnake end rope with brass removed into the loop and pull out thin wire with boresnake rope. It´s easy and fast.
