Q:

Condor SS .25 cal needs cleaning

My condor SS shoots great but it needs cleaning about every 100 shots.

After cleaning it shoots fine for a while and then it starts drifting to the right of target.

After cleaning, it gets back on the target and then after X number of shots it starts drifting to the right of target.

What gives ???

Thanks, Toad Monster.

I shoot only 25 cal JSB 25.4 grain pellets in my SS condor. It’s a tight fit in the breech so if the muzzle is choked … I would imagine the already tight pellets get squeezed a lot at the muzzle. I will try what you said.

What type of pellets are you using? What speed do you have it set to?

Reason I ask is these lw barrels are choked and chew into a pellet quite a bit. If you shoot into a 5 gallon bucket of water and recover the pellet you will see just how much. Second the faster you shoot the faster lead accumulates in your barrel. This is especially pronounced at higher speeds say over 900 fps.

Also since your shooting .25 do you shoot cast pellets? These have more surface contact with the barrel, and need to be leaned more often.

You can try using kry tech wax. Available at mac1 airguns. This will help increase the time between cleanings, I can personally vouc for its effectiveness. Also pick up their crown saver cleaning system. These two things will definitely help. Especially since it sounds like you might just have to frequently clean the barrel Anyways.

And finally I have to ask if you have a level on your condor, these guns are the easiest guns in the world to cant. I didn’t realize how easy it was until after I added a level.
