Condor woes…
…Sort of?
I’ve took a break from the Condor for a about a week after getting my Pneuma .177 set up with crazy accuracy at 50 yards. Tack after tack accuracy.
Anyways, upon returning to the good ol Condor and giving it a chrony string, the shot velocity is out of whack. I used to get shot deviations no larger than 5 fps but now I’m up to 10+ fps between some shots?! 😕
Accuracy was off too, getting like 1″+ 5-shot groups, sometimes larger groups at 50 😡
Here’s where I tried something different and it may lead to an answer… I’ve tried leaning the breech knobs both ways to see if that helps any for accuracy and consistency. I normally lean it left. But left now gives the worst results. Right gives it pretty good results but still not “up to par”..
I tried not leaning any way after cocking the gun, and lo and behold, accuracy and shot deviation return to normal 1-5 fps between shots! 😯 😕 I’m back to getting sub 1″ 10 shot groups at 50 yards but obviously now there is a small blast of air escaping around the TH/breech due to the breech being able to bounce after the shot! Is that air wastage? Fps is the same as leaning the breech knob either way.. I just get a blast of air now on both sides..
Any thoughts/concerns/answers to why this change happened? Any fixes or should I just shoot it without leaning the breech knob and accept the small air blast? Accuracy may even be better than before but the air blast is a little concerning.. 😕
