picked up 7×10 HF Lathe $200
it runs, needs work low gear don’t work. when it feels like it’s in gear and you get on the rpm chuck doesn’t move feels locked. i’ve been replacing plastic gears for metal as i get the funds. what i was wondering is can i turn a LW barrel to fit my BNM breech or any other breeches.

ok so the low side doesn’t work and I’m getting ready to do some threading. I order both gears in metal so I’ll be replacing the plastic. Has anyone did this? So it looks like I’m going to have to remove the headstock and press out the spindle. Is this correct?
I have been using one for a long time now.
Best upgrades are a 5″ 3 Jaw chuck and quick release for tail stock and QD Tool rest.
got mine already odne 2 barrles for my stealth and a few mods did the oring trick on the top hat as well used a lot
Oh I want a bigger one to begin with lol. But this was cheap but need some gear replaced no biggie. Just don’t want to tie much into it. Yes I’m already buying at Littlemachineshop have them book marked.
They are a great handy little lathe to have fun with, until you realize you want something bigger. Been there. Try Littlemachineshop.com for parts and accessories for it. They are who I went to when I had mine. Have fun.
you could depending the length of the barrel… With only 10″ between centers, that don’t leave a lot of room.
I was kind of hoping that maybe I could get away with a bigger chuck and a live center.
Im sure its doable…. get a 4 jaw chuck. make a cats head …
