Q:

Tuning an Air Force gun.

What is involved in a tune? There probably are different tunes and prices. What about a simple tune versus a pull out all the stops forget the cost tune. What does a tune accomplish? Are they tuned just like other airguns? Who are some recommended tuners for Air Force guns?

take a look at all the great PANDEMIC videos on here that will take you through all the various mods you may want to do. The thing I’d add to the items already mentioned is the talon tunes hammer with slap mod. They are fun to mess with, and it is super cool when you find the right combo for your gun. These things are tack drivers with the right pellet/pressure/powerwheel setting/etc.

any guides to follow for all that stuff, some of us are a bit slow and need pictures or video’s, like me

What you want to do is

Port and polish the valve

polish your barrel where the bolt rides and put on some better orings on the bolt

Clean the barrel and recrown if needed.

Bed your bushings to your frame for a custom fit.

Do a trigger job.

Get a trigger shoe from Talon Tunes

That is a good place to start

You can do it yourself. Buy the TT stem with the inserts. Then you can play with it. I think some people end up putting a o ring behind the tophat to help also.

Should be able to get 30-40 good shots.
