Daystate Air Ranger .25 50 fpe
Is there a way to adjust the fps on the Air Ranger?
This is an unregulated gun, so it appears the hammer spring is the only option, other than widening the transfer port.
Suggestions/ideas?

WOW!!! That would be insane. But this is probably just because a scuby bottle is already on the border of being able to fill in the first place with it’s 3200 (Over filled) limit. Time to step up to a SCBA bottle Unk!
It is my understanding, that the Wolf bottle Can be unscrewed, but it must be empty to do so as it does not have a valve of its’ own when used in the AW platform. Unscrewing it Before, it is empty, if you had the guff to do it would result in a fine rocket!!! 😉 !!!
Altros does make a reg. for your gun. Why not get in touch with him directly?

Thank you for the answer! I’ll try reducing the fpe first and see what the shot count is. One of the calculators I used to gauge shot count said I would get 3.8 fills (1000 psi to 3000 psi from a 150 cf scuba tank filled to 3200 psi. That’s like 120 shots per scuba tank fill. That’s insane air usage from a 500 cc air bottle for 50 fpe in .25 caliber (40 per 3K bottle fill)! Every bullpup in the world beats that number by 10X.

There is a few after market kits out there but these Altaros ones would probably be the best value for money Mr Hooters.. Ive fitted a few and they work well.

Since the Air Ranger has a “permanent” 500 cc bottle air supply, is it possible to put a regulator between the bottle and the Ranger valve?
I’ve noticed some JDS Airman has some screw-in regs for bottle guns, but I’m not certain if the Ranger’s bottle can be “unscrewed”.
The only way I know to increase the shot count currently is to lower the 50 fpe by reducing hammer spring tension. I don’t know if
installing a regulator would permit the 50 fpe and increase shot count as well…very little info available on tuning and results on this gun.

Little known factoid…Don Prudhomme is Paul Prudhomme’s illegitimate cousin, twice removed, and after races, back in the day, they used to cook up “tail-gate road kill” for Don’s fans. The only thing that made it edible was Paul’s seasonings, basically left-over chemicals from Don’s engine shop. Folks down in Louisiana didn’t know any better, so Paul began to sell the left-over seasonings in small brown bags, off the back of Don’s trailer! After a while it just caught on. Didn’t you ever wonder how those people could suck the innards out of crawdads and smack their lips???
Later, when everyone started going “Green”, he began to tone down the chemical additives with seeds, herbs, weeds, and shit!!! :whistle:

That’s a super video, with easy to understand instructions. I can get my pellet weight of choice and experiment now with various velocities to see which performs best within my personal kill zone of 150 feet.
I have some large edible animals infesting our area that I intend to thin out. Which raises the question as to whether I can mix possum, armadillo, raccoon, and venison meat in the same stew? I don’t see why not, if I add enough fresh lard, a mix of vegetables, some Don Prudhome “Game Seasonings”, and slow cook it in a crock pot!!!

Cricket was way into the AG’s. and all of a sudden he sold all of them and kinda disappeared. No Idea what the story was.

I owned one a few years back and you are right…big, heavy, but powerful.
They want several hundred dollars for upgrade to the .25 80 fpe “Extreme” and that’s a ripoff. They fancied up the cosmetics, but mechanically it can’t be more than a valve tune and a heavier/lighter spring.
The 50 fpe is on sale for a brief time at AoA. 500 cc bottle, Harper Valve…which I believe is nothing more than a valve with an anti-bounce feature…nothing special, but beats a kick in the balls with a steel toe boot!
Pomona Airguns puts a custom over-sized shroud on for $150, if you buy the gun there. It’s WAY effective! I really liked the gun…other than the size.
I’d certainly like to “Bullpup” one of these…. 😀
