Talon Tunes one piece top hat will not fit
Hello-
I ordered the Talon Tunes one piece top hat with inserts and finally got the opportunity to test it out. At least I tried. My problem is that it will not go into the tank far enough. I tried to insert the one piece unit, it would only insert not even half way in and no amount of pressing or pushing would get it in any further to allow me to take the safety off to use the hammer to seat it the rest of the way. I even used some divers silicone grease to lubricate it. I was afraid of damaging the valve unit if I hammered on it so I pried it back out and reinserted the two piece unit, which went in with no problem.
Has any one else experienced this issue? and if so what can be done about it?
Thank you for any assistance.

Hello Guys-
I called Tony the other day. He kindly spent the time and answered all my questions. It turns out it is oversized a bit and unless I pry it out and reinstall it 30 times or more it will not stretch out and reshape the derlin valve seat in the air tank. He also said that if I felt it was too tight I could polish it down a thousandth or 2 and check the fit. As it turned out, I did not have do that.
I removed the tank and pulled off the factory top hat. Then , using my rubber coated wood carvers mallet I gently tapped in the TT unit till it was in deep enough for me to use the Condor hammer to seat it the rest of the way. No exciting noise and such.. LOL.
As I plan on keeping it in place and using the inserts, I have no plans on removing and reinstalling it many times. I mentioned to Tony how I was using the “O” ring trick and he told me that he really does not see the need for it but admitted that some people prefer it and told me to go ahead and use it if I liked.
Thank you all for your reassurances on this issue. I am still learning the Condor and enjoying the experience.
Take care.
