never buy airforce scopes
I have had three of these scopes and, you can have them seems that the reticles break loose rather easy on these pieces of junk, I do not know where they make them, but I would bet its China. I just threw one away, it was a 3x9x40 I barely got to use this one before it took a shit. The 4x16x50 I have two of these, one I have had on my rifle for about a year and a half, And at first it was pretty good, I was shooting at 40 yards, now the same scope will be on and then of to the right and then off to the left, then it will go up and then down. I keep having to adjust it then it will be dead on for 8 to 10 shots and then back off in what ever direction. I have had this happen before with a cat eye scope and after changing it out for the air force 4x16x50 the rifle was dead on, and of course now It is doing the same thing. And no I do not handle the rifle rough or the scope. I guess a year and a half is about all you can get out of junk. I will never buy another scope from air force lesson learned. anyone know of a good scope that is not so easily broken, or I guess I could just go back to fixed sights I do have a set for this rifle. This up and down and side to side is not being caused by variations in speed I just ran the rifle through a chronograph, the rifle was putting out pretty consistent velocities for 30 shots. Today 11/19/2014 I pulled the 3X9X40 back out of the trash pile, And took it apart it has what looks like a little leaf springs that sit opposite of the turrets, I guess they must lose their spring tension pretty quick, which is probably what was causing the wandering POI. I would like to find a scope that is reasonably priced that will not have this problem. I have had a few suggestions from friends, But I just don’t see my self putting a 3500.00 dollar scope on a 500.00 dollar air gun. If anyone has a suggestions I would be glad to hear them. But for now it is back to fixed sights, who knows it may just put some fun back in shooting.

If I can afford it, I will always stay away from:
1) Re-branded scopes from companies that do not deal/manufacture scopes at all.
2) Any scope cheaper that $150.
You can get lucky sometimes, but in the long run they are not meant to be good. Just to function in average (or less)
Cheers
