HELP reg-flo to hi-flo tank conversion – need you!!!
Hey all-
So I embarked on this tank conversion project, reg-flo to hi-flo (quick detach not spin-loc tank)
I called and got parts from AF and I check a schematic (attached) that I found from another poster here.
After degassing/ dump air, fabricated valve collar removal tool (5/16″ rod), and removing valve assembly…
Some discrepancies between my tank and the schematic found:
1 – missing nylon retainer seal found in assembly – used in front of the spring retainer washer
2 – missing ‘spacer’ (but doesn’t appear there is room for it unless it rides inside valve spring)
3 – valve seat provided by AF very different – stubby and shorter than what was in reg-flo tank
OK – tried re-assembling valve assembly with what I had, swapping OEM 2-piece tophat for a TT adjustable one-piece tophat.
Get everything reassembled BUT – Tophat is popping out (valve spring pushing it out). :angrymob:
What keeps this thing inside the valve insert nice and snug to prevent pop-out and consequential air dumping while I try to pressurize?
I thought maybe compressing it with the fill adapter and filling might ‘pressurize’ it and make it ‘stay put’ – but no the case.
PLEASE ADVISE

Thanks Tony – they were the only ones on the site and didn’t really have labeling to state any difference… do you know of any additional site/ sources to download for future reference?
