Hello,
I’m a new member here looking to buy my first good air rifle. Is there any reason for buying the Condor SS over the Talon SS? I’ll be shooting on my 10 acres with my longest shots being around 50 yards.

I have the condor .22, wish I would of got the Condor SS. I ended up changing the 24 barrel out with an 18″ one and getting an RL Shroud. Would of been much cheaper just to get the SS version…
I’d up for the Condor SS 25 cal it can be change to a 22 cal, and you’ll have the option to dial it up or down if you like.
Maybe a little over kill but better real dead then not dead enough.
Love the gun consider the JSB King @ all ranges and PolyMags out to 40 yards there great !
Other then that you could also get by with the Condor SS in 22 cal if you like the fact that ammo will cost you less. If you are planning to shoot a lot.

Target and plinking out to 50 yards or so. I’d probably use it for some squirrel hunting and dispatching varmints around the chicken coup.
What are you going to use it for primarily ?
Target shooting 50 yards, or hunting 50 yards and what game ?

If anyone comes across a nice used Condor SS, or Talon SS, please let me know. Right now I’m leaning towards a .22 caliber.

Sounds like a condor SS is the way to go. Probably in .22. Probably used.

Pretty dang quiet. I have one in 25, it’s newer, so it has the Sound-Lok system, which works well. A buddy had a decibel app for his phone and he checked it near the muzzle, no more than a normal conversation voice level. Pretty impressive.
How quiet is the Condor SS when dialed down to say 850-900 fps?
I would agree with erikblank on this. I have both and I give a slight edge to the Condor for both speed and accuracy. Of course that is purely my opinion. I’m sure that others more edu-ma-cated will chime in soon.
I’m leaning towards the Condor SS in .22. Although, the Talon SS is all I need and cheaper.
Hi Fro, I have a standard Talon. It’s all the gun you’d need for 50 yards and under. Lately I’ve been taking pigeons at around 80 yards with it. That being said, I’d get the Condor. It’s easier and cheaper to bring the Condor down to Talon power if you feel it has too much for your needs, than it is to bring the Talon up to Condor power.
