Q:

Explosion of Cricket regulator tester

Hi guys.

Recently I had a pretty terrible accident. My regulator tester exploded when it reached the pressure of 240 bar.

The blast was huge and I lost the ability of hearing for a few seconds. Please be careful with high pressure! The pressure of 300 bars means there is 300 kg placed on every square centimeter.

Holly shit that was something. I usually leave the barn when I’m filling and come back with a flack vest on when it’s filled.

yeh I’m with wingman on that one…..

not really sure why that brass is on there for anyhow?

Jeepers, man that’s some scary shit !
Makes me leery of testing/setting reg, good to know there’s an Ernest around.

Not the best way to start out the New Year with that kind of BANG !

But the main thing is that your alright shooter3 !

ATB ~ GKU

Im guessing that may have been dropped and fractured he brass to cause a failure like that.. possibly the wrong grade or bad piece of cast brass?

I can do that once I receive my tester. It is being repaired now.

Hi looks like there use have been a inclusion or crack in the material. That is a very strange place for a crack to accur. The place it tore was the thickest at that place.

Could you disassemble the tester to give us a look at how it is constructed.

Yeah, I will contact the manufacturer here in Poland.

Man! Glad you are OK and Thanks for the warning!
Who makes these units? You should contact them as someone could get hurt

Thanks guys. I am ok.

Yes, that’s the fill hose assembly which was destroyed.

The tester was crafted here in Poland. It has nothing in common with Talon Airgun forum.

I know that Ernest uses the testers a lot. Please be careful man.

Wow, I bet that scared the crap out of ya! 😯 Glad you came out with just ringing ears, could have been a lot worse. I’m assuming that’s the fill hose assembly. To me unless it had been handled and touch a lot on the end where it separated that there is a difference in coloration of the material, almost like it had already partially failed and then the final failure. It’s a good wake-up call to respect this high pressure hobby we have and to stay out of the line of fire when possible.

Wow I hope you are ok?

Who made that thing, I would write them on this.
Best of luck & I hope all is well.
