about adjusting the new trigger on the R3m Standard
Anyone know a good procedure? The trigger has only one adjustment screw to alter the cam engagement. I’m finding the trigger pull too long for my taste, and let let-off (pull weight) to be a bit heavy.

Wingman, I just came up from adjusting the trigger, and saw your reply post. Oh, I trust that you will bullshit me, but would let me off the hook before I thought or did something stupid. I adjusted the rod as you’d said, assuming lefty-loosey, and soon came to where the gun would not cock, then started working on the fine-tuning for length and let-off pressure. I like a light trigger, and now i have one that suits me. I can now more fully appreciate the clever design. I did not do the whack test, but I’ll go back downstairs a bit later and be sure it’s a safe setup.

Would I bullshit you? :whistle: 😀 yup lefty loosey will take out the first stage slack.. a bit of loctite 243 on the threads and the nut that holds the tension sping is a good idea too.. dont go too far or it wont cock.. take it slow and give it the whack test to make sure you still have safe opperation.

Or even a mod from Ed that shortens that first stage? I imagine Ed will improve the R3m with the next update, and I hope the 1st stage pull length adjustment is one of them. A retrofit kit of some sort would be very nice. As is, the 1st stage is way too long. I went and got a glass of water while waiting for my finger to reach the 2nd stage! :rofl: (just kidding, Ed, and everyone). Also, I’d like to see photos of the 1.75mm shim Ernest is speaking of.

How about putting a short tube over the pin where trigger sets?

OK, I know I’m dense as lead, but how to adjust the 1st stage travel on the newer single-screw trigger. Don’t need the extra length of the pull if there’s a way around it.

Just a quick update. I did the whack test to test my trigger settings. I used the ball of my fist to beat on the sides and bottom of the stock in the trigger area, pointing the barrel downrange (in my basement?), then pointing the muzzle towards the ground. It’s a light trigger with a very short 1st stage,a nd light 2nd stage, but it did not fire prematurely.
I feel safe!! 😀 (but not careless.)
