Whats new in Ballistic Chronographs Technology
Ok guys no more light needed for your ballistic chronographs ever. What do you guys think of these new gadgets for ballistics?

What range performance can one expect with LabRadar?
In general LabRadar will typically measure the velocity of a 7.62 mm projectile from muzzle up to 100 yards. After extensive testing of a variety of calibers you can expect to obtain velocities at these distances *. .177 Pellet – 30 yards; .177 BB – 30 yards; 22 LR – 60 yards; 223 – 60 yards; 270 – 70 yards; 308 – 80 to 100 yards; 9mm – 130 yards; 40 S&W – 130 yards; 45 ACP – 130 yards; 500 S&W – 130 yards; 12 gauge Slug – 90 yards; Paint Ball – 50 yards; Arrows – 50 yards; * Since every bullet has a different profile your results may vary. In general, the larger the base (excluding the boat tail) the great the distance the projectile can be acquired.

I’ve been using the MagnetoSpeed on a variety of airguns and firearms with good results. I’ve just used a shim on tapered barrels with no problems.
On Condor SS or EDGun just mount to the left or right instead of underneath.
Readings are reliable for muzzle velocities of interest. For very low velocities or low mass pellets it won’t resister.
Unlike the Airgun only muzzle mount chronographs, the Magnetospeed withstands powderburner muzzle blasts. It’s useful across a pretty wide range of guns.

The magneto speed won’t work for semi-auto handguns and needs to be kludged around anything that isn’t a bare, traditional rifle barrel.
LabRadar, on the other hand, has my full attention, and I wish they’d take my money! If that pans out, every other chronograph is obsolete, imo.

I like this chronograph for it’s ability to interface with a smart phone. At the moment, it’s on sale for just $69.99 at Midway (normally $129). Also, the optional light kit is only $37.99. I really like how the app shows the energy along with the FPS for each shot. So much easier than using a thermal printer or writing each shot down.
