45 gr 22 cal slugs are here! video added
So i managed to drop off the wifes radar for a few minutes today! Measured the pellets and heres the numbers.
45 gr 1/2 round total length .51 inches, .2175 diameter, .338 body length befor the tip starts.
3/4 round .507 total length, .2175 diameter, .47 body length.
Ej 32 gr .583 total length, .218 diameter.
Shot 3 down range. First of each went clean and right on target. Set up the chrony and pumped up the gun from 2500 to 3k and dumped most of the tank. Got it up to 907 though! And got it all on video. Once i get the videos edited and put together ill post. For now a pic of the 2 45 gr next to ej 32 & 28 gr jsb 25 gr and predator 16 gr for size comparison.

Yeahbwhen it dumps the tank it sucks. Just wish i could stick my finger in the barrel to stop the air from getting away. Lol. I get about 4 shots right now on about 200 psi. Shoot 4 then 60 pumps. Before its all said and done i will have a power tank set up anda regulated shot take for target shooting.

The gun usually only dumps with no restrictor in the tt top hat and too thin of a washer under the top hat. The washer limits the travel of the top hat. Not sure why it dumped with the .020 in it. I can shoot the 32 gr ej with that set up and no issues. Gets them zipping at 1066 avg and the high was 1078. But with the 45 gr it dumped with the .020. I got the same velocity using the .025 washer so i am happy.
And yes the reg set up could definatly get up to this power also. I learned from regulating this gun that its all about volume! The chamber between the valve and regulator has to be big enough to hold enough air to get the pellet going. The jds reg had me at 42 fpe if i recall correctly because the chamber is so small in the adapter. I have one being made with 55 cc of volume and will run the gun on 2 kpsi and should be able to get in the 55 fpe range with lost of shots. The 2300 psi set with small adapter got 40 shots within an 11 fps window. Regs are fun and jds builds a good one i just need a larger adapter.
Once i get a day to test the accuracy i intend on setting up the chrony at the 40 yd mark to check the down range energy and will post those numbers as well. Ive done that with most of my guns just to see what the pellets are doing. Its very interesting.
Thats some good shooting with a springer. 121 aint no joke, thats bragging rights. Good on ya.
@onebaddj, Thanks for taking the time to share all of your findings, here! This is very interesting stuff, to me. I just watched your video. What exactly about adding the nylon-washer is causing the gun to dump all of it’s air like that, do you think? Also, do you have any idea if it’s possible to regulate the gun at this power level?.. or would a regulator and your nylon-washer shim modification not work simultaneously? I’m certainly looking forward to seeing accuracy results with the 45 grain bullets. Myself, I only shoot groundhogs and rabbits, because they’ll eat most of our garden if I don’t. My gas-spring modded Hatsan 135, shooting JSB 18.13gr, delivers approx. 31-fpe at the muzzle and approx. 15.5-fpe at 121yds. It can put most shots in a 2″ circle at 121yds, if it’s not a real gale of a wind blowing. It’d be great if you could shoot some of these over the chrono a 100meters or so, to calculate a ballistic coefficient for these 2x bullets.
Here is the video of the initial tests run with the 45 gr pellets. Not bad results will have to do accuracy testing later. I also pulled a few out of my trap and the mushrooming is pretty good. They should make a solid squirrel round.
Final set up is .025 washer, ttqc top hat wide open, 3 kpsi fill, 95 gr hammer, pw set at 0.
The tank dump is also on the video. Its pretty funny.

I have 2 of his regulators. 1 set at 2300 psi the other at 2000 psi. I am in the process of getting an adapter built with an internal volume of 55 cc so I can get the velocity up with less pressure. That should get me in the 50 fpe range for a buncha shots. I agree when I had this on the reg it was stupid consistant.
