What If I Don’t Like The Condor…
Really leaning towards purchasing a Condor. Let’s say I find it too loud and too powerful for my needs.. What exactly would it take to convert into a Talon SS? Is it even possible to put the SS baffles into the Condor tube? How would I go about changing valves etc to get it to Talon power levels?

I have a 22 condor that I can take from a 45 shot 40 fpe and so quiet that the hammer hitting is louder than the shot itself to a 82 fpe cannon in about 5 minutes with the talon tunes top hat and a nylon washer behind it. The washer is .025 thick. Just change out the insert in the top hat and use heavier lead, thats it. I run an R&L shround that is very effective. Key is to keep wasted air and velocity down. That will keep sound down.
Its easier to turn down a condor than to build up a talon.
Yes that is a normal condor with a 12″ barrel making it a high power Talon SS like others have said but the TT QCTH and it is an all in one package longer barrel for large game small soundloc barrel with restrictive inserts in for small game can go wrong

really want in the performance from an PCP air rifle .

Throttling back the power is no problem. The TT Tophat would be the easiest thing to do (unless you’re looking at throttling it **way** back). Just toss in the small insert and you should be in the Talon neighborhood. Getting more power, if you were trying to go the other direction would be harder.
My feel for the situation is that the Condor SS is the best starting point – it can be readily converted to about anything you’d want in terms of the AirForce lineup.

This means I will have the length of a Talon SS, but all the potential possibilities of a Condor, not to mention I can integrally suppress this sucker, making me feel a whole lot better going suppressed out in the field.. and not having to sweat running into a BATF officer/cop that doesn’t know the finer points of suppressor laws on airguns :angrymob:
In my opinion, the Condor is probably the best platform to begin building off of, as the OAL is much more convenient, and I can still get rather adequate performance out of a 12″ barrel (everyone else does in their Talon SS).. I also have the freedom to juice it up some more and go 18″ or 24″ and have the capacity to push more air with the Condor system vs what the Talon SS can do. I suppose for someone who is not concerned with OAL, the Condor SS would be ideal. Maybe I will change my mind and go with the Condor SS.. still up in the air.. final decision will be made when that tax return shows up! :rofl:

After posting this question, I saw a video on youtube from Pandemic Videos.. now he says “Condor SS or Talon SS” but in his hands it appears to me that he is holding a regular Condor! I only think this is because of the extended scope rail.. it looks just like a Condor to me! Check out this link and let me know what exactly is going on here. This is a short video illustrating how to install a sound loc kit for a “Condor SS or Talon SS”… but I feel like he meant to say Condor as well.. maybe I am way off? Anyways, thanks for the reply.. let me know!

If this is in fact a Condor, I will get this in a heart beat.. the short length combined with the power and ability to add an integral suppressing system is all exactly what I want.
I’m not 100% sure here, but I think if you get a Condor ( non-SS) your tube will be too short to add the baffles later. However, you’ll still be able to add a third-party “shroud” to your gun, making it very quiet.

This! I started out with a .22 condor… wanted more power so I bought an 18″ .25 cal. barrel… took about 10 minutes (because I never had changed a barrel before) and after installing the barrel, took out the insert I had in the TT Quick Change Top Hat and ran it fully open… Sucker went from a very finely tuned .22 to an air cannon… You can even use a standard 10-24 brass set screw and drill an even smaller hole in it and make yourself a more restrictive Top Hat to the point you could probably get away with using a .177 barrel with the high flow tank that is standard on the .25’s…
