Cricket Shooting Sparrows In the Snow

I just topped an even dozen on sparrows – enough for a pie – and stayed warm (luckily the wife is gone). This setup is incredibly effective although I have the Caldwell Magnum pod too. I took a shot a squirrel at about 85 yards before I realized the season ended yesterday. Luckily I missed. 😯

You can see the hills with the snow on them. The second hill (top is way out of the picture) is behind the first smaller one and goes pretty high. The perfect backstop. The creek is at the base of the first hill. You can see the edge of the creek along the lower part of the wind chimes. The roof extends over those outdoor shooting benches. The deer was all over the corn under the snow out there this morning.

The creek edge is 60 yards and the hillside 85 yards but on the other side of a deep creek (hence my furthest target is only 50 yards) The top of the first hill through the dense woods is probably 110-115 yards. The critters own it back there is the summer. 😆

Adding some case lights to the smaller Honda PCX 150 (smaller) scooter next. It still tops out at 74 mph. 😛

cool set up and shooting range there guys, I guess the key is still stealth,
Mike.

Nice country to hunt GKU !

Secoda, love that shooting pop. Snow ain’t melted here either, but it’s starting to.

.

Farms here vary I haven’t laser them to the limits, but I’d think over 300 yards or so on some.
Typical distance is about 30-80 yards for us anyway, and that +100 ones now and then is just to fun.

Great to have an anytime shooting gallery like your any day !

Very nice. What state/country is that? Looks like some hills in the background.

That first hill behind me is about 50 ft tall but the second hill behind it is nearly 100 ft and tops out over 250 yards away. I also can shoot out the front of my house at a hill in the woods across the road but again I only have 50-60 yards before the hill becomes a back stop. You can see why shots beyond 75 yards are pretty tough most of the year. A 50-60 yard airgun like the P-Rod is even sufficient most of the time. On the positive side between the woods, hills, and creek, I am inundated with a lot of critters (many we don’t like but are good to shoot). :smilen:

Nice set up there SECoda !

180 degree view of my home range that I use to check zero, chrony work and plink.

I wish, but can’t take any pictures while pesting at the farms and shopping malls in request of the property owners.
