Q:

.25 Cricket Pup trigger issue

I took apart my cricket to try and fix the horizontal POI shifting(re-seating barrel). Upon putting it back together the POI shifting is, at the moment, fixed.

The issue is that the trigger now has no 2 stage functionality. What was the start of 1st stage, is now 2nd stage. It has no play, just a straight hair trigger. The trigger is still sitting in the same position as before.

I made no adjustments to anything trigger related, so kind of curious to know what could have happened?

The rifle is still perfectly functional so I have not gotten around to examining it.

Careful your gun is in an unsafe state !!!

The trigger location is dependent on the frame alignment.
In your case it sounds like the frame is to far forward.

If your action fits into the stock okay then:
Also cheek to see if the trigger rod is not bent and or rubbing up against something.
If you unbuckled the rod when doing the adjustment in question it might have tighten up without you knowing.

But recheck the below first before making any new trigger adjustments.
If done wrong the trigger location will be also.

If the above was done correctly then you need to readjust your trigger location.
Your frame must have been off alignment.
Note that in the video Ernest got it backwards. To make the trigger forwards shorten the length. You don’t need to cut the length of the spring to lighten it. Just turn the rod to adjust the pull weight of the first stage, then adjust the trigger position.

Extra trigger adjustment if you haven’t done so already.
