Cricket BP 25 maxed out HST
My stock Cricket BP is shooting about 896-902 @ 200 bar on a 12 shot chrony with JSB 25.4 Kings. I would like to get it closer to 920-930 but the HST is maxed out (I can get one more full turn but heard it is not a good thing to have it all the way in).
Watched some of Ernest’s vids, but not quite sure how to increase the speed anymore. I am a tad fearful of messing with the adjustments on the valve & regulator.
If anyone anyone give me some accurate direction on how to achieve this goal of 920-930 fps it would be much appreciated.

Sorry, I been a tad busy…cleaning out my parents’ home getting it ready for sale (they passed away last summer) & getting my finance’s condo ready to sell & move her in w. me.
Anyway, right now I drop off the regulator at ~110-115b. Shot this string with JSB 25.4 from 200-110b where it fell off regulator (not shown but dropped to 877 then 863 so I stopped shooting)

Part of the reason I want to kick it up a bit, is that my HST is maxed out so I have no room for adjusting FPS.
I shot some Kodiak 31s that chrono’d at 825 (Kodiaks have killer good accuracy at 25yds pellet-on-pellet then they got a little bit wider at 40).
I would like to get them traveling a tad hotter and also get my Kings up to 920 – 930 FPS.
Figured I would back HST out to flush and then increase reg pressure to 125b, but from what it sounds like I may just need to adjust the valve spring.
Shot out to 40 yds: Kings were still pretty tight (shooting off a stump w a lite breeze) keeping inside a nickel size grouping. The Kodiaks opened up to about a quarter size group.

Hope he didn’t take the harder route by adjusting the reg before checking his valve spring setting ?
If he is max out on the HST at 902 fps, I suspect that his reg is set to about 115 bar.
And his Valve spring retainer must be set to 1-1.5 turns after contact.
If he would just turn it down to 1/2-3/4 (.5 – .75) turn after contact, it should be PERFECT at 930-920 fps with Kings.

I´m with GKU. Without reading all the replys : Want more power than can be achieved with the HTA – open the reg and match it with the valve spring tension.
First of all it does seem that your 25 cal is shooting a bit slow, typical out of box speed with Kings are in the 950s.
If you haven’t already, I would check to see if the transfer port is in proper alignment before making any internal adjustments.
Also, what is your regulator set to ?
The reason why I ask is because depending where it is set to maybe all you need to do is adjust your value spring retainer out a bit CCW.
But it depends on if it was already set at 1-2 turns after contact.
Setting it to a lower torque of 1/2 turn will increase your speed.
If it was already set to 1/2 turn you need to increase your reg pressure.

Any reason you seek to increase the velocity? How tight are your 50 yard groups
Mine was shooting 950 out of the box with the JSbs, I’m trying to get to where you’re at”. Right now, I’m at 930. I like the power, but the groups opened up around 50 yards when it was shooting 950. I’m going to see what these groups look like before I take it apart again.

Stock .25 usually shoot higher. Try to back out HST to flush and start turning CW till speed stops or comes down.
For future tuning, here are oal lengh of regulators with different pressure made by Ernest.

Sorry for your lost their Tim !
If you can back out the value spring not less than .5 turns after contact, it will give you more hammer spring.
After which you need to back out the HST CCW to about flush with the receive body.
Turn in CW 1/4 turn and take 3 shots at each time until the speed no longer goes up, then back out 1/2 turn CCW.
This is your new targeted speed/velocity.
If you still desire a fast one, you need to open up the reg a bit more.
In any tweaks of any kind this resetting of the HST is necessary.
After which dialing down the HST is okay and possibly, but trying to dial it up past this point will result in just wasted air.
