Yes, I would think so.
If you can back out the value spring not less than .5 turns after contact, it will give you more hammer spring.
But why 2 turns after contact, Ernest video on adjusting is set to 2 turns as a reference point only.
It’s to much IMO .5 – 1 turn is better.

What target speed are you looking to get ?
Target speed, meaning at what speed is your gun shooting the most accurately with your pellet of choice.
Knowing that the HST has a limit in going high, I usually start high and work my way down to check accuracy’s.
I suspect that is another reason why KG sets the guns shooting so hot, the other is that in time the reg will play down as much as -10 bars.
If you leave your reg the way it is set and just turn your valve spring retainer to 1/2-3/4 (.5-.75) turns after contact.
Your target speed will go up about +30 fps or maybe more.
After which you need to back out the HST CCW to about flush with the receive body.
Turn in CW 1/4 turn and take 3 shots at each time until the speed no longer goes up, then back out 1/2 turn CCW.
This is your new targeted speed/velocity.
If you still desire a fast one, you need to open up the reg a bit more.
In any tweaks of any kind this resetting of the HST is necessary.
After which dialing down the HST is okay and possibly, but trying to dial it up past this point will result in just wasted air.

GKU. my target speed is 910 and I used ernests video to adjust my reg. And my valve spring is set at 2 turns. With this set up is it normal to have to bottom out the hammer spring to reach 910?

In using this method to adjust the reg. And having your valve spring at 2 turns, is it normal that the hammer spring has to be all the way in to get 910 fps? Or do I need to back the reg off a hair?
Another great video by Ernest. Thanks Ernest.
I am so glad you posted this because I was just above half way in the hole. It was way to far in! Thank you for saving me from a lot of head ache.
Another excellent video. It really shows how it works and makes it easy for a layman.
Very nice video Earnest! I got my reg. tester from John, and this video shows how to get started close to the range where the guns regulator needs to be set. Thanks again for all you do for the AG Community sir!

Because I am looking for the best target speed with the best efficiency/most shots. According to ernest This happens to be at around 910 with a valvespring at 2 turns and adjust hammer accordingly.
I just wanted to make sure that I had done it correctly because I did not realize that the hammer was going to be bottomed out.
I just wanted to make sure that this is normal.
