Q:

Breach o-rings

I have a P.D. brass breach and I believe the o-rings are wearing out because of the ease of movement and the report seems to be getting a little louder. Are all o-rings equal? Meaning the same size, or is there a specific size for my particular breach. Thank you in advance.

Another thing you may want to look into is the stem that holds the knob to the breech. It’s steel and WILL wear your frame with repeated use ( in the notches where it locks to the side ). If this happens, your breech may not be locking back tightly against the top hat. Results would be loss of power and louder discharge!
If the frame IS worn in that area, you’ll need to extend those notches further down the side of the frame.

Just realized you’re from San Jose! I moved from Concord to Tennessee last Feb. fantastic ground squirrel hunting in the Livermore area. My old hunting buddy still lives there and is looking for someone to hunt with. He (we) have access to a 2500 acre ranch.
P.M. Me your contact info and I’ll send it to him.

I have that same parisD breech. When my o rings started to get weak, I replaced them with the factory rings that came in my factory breech. Worked fine and have been in there for over 1000 shots. The trick to keeping your rings in good shape is to keep them lubed up with divers silicone.

I’ve also polished my barrel so that helps with ring longevity!
