edgun bolt/breach seals keep breaking?
Hi,
I’ve had 4 seals break on me in the last 2 days..
seems they want to “roll off” or something is rubbing them at the bottom..
I have had the edgun totally apart as it was leaking everywhere after about 4 years of her just standing there being pretty (I’ve been sick for a long time, and she has given me trouble from the start).
I’ve replaced every o-ring throughout the gun, had some trouble finding my regulator settings back, but that all seems fine now (although I am a bit weary about the valvestem being a little crooked, I polished the valve seat and this fixed my last leak).
So.. after shooting her for about 3 days without problems I started to notice a little pop when coking the rifle after firing a shot, so I figured there is air getting trapped between the 2 seals.. this proved to be right the next day.. poof a broken seal.. I’ve replaced both seals, shot maybe 10 shots.. and poof the back seal went again!
It seems it is rubbing at the bottom as the front seal was rolled back too at the bottom.. I tried to roll it back with the bolt in place as I did not want to disassemble and assemble AGAIN.. and this was my last seal.. so I just left it for today..
Just a couple of seconds ago I walk over to the gun to verify my front/back seal story.. I pull the bolt back and the last seal is now broken too 🙁
I’d like to know what could cause this?
I bought an complete seal kit before leaving on holiday being determined to finally get this gun shooting properly @100 meters as I bought the gun for competition in Holland (100mairgun.nl) in 2009…
I’ve always been weary of the breech part of the gun and it’s alignment with the barrel, but after reading that the seals seal the breach and not the barrel I am kinda lost as of where to look next..
Regards,

Thank you for the reply.
I won’t be getting any seals until easter festivities are over.
So happy Easter everyone, the Easter bunny can do his deliveries in peace this year 😉
