Q:

R3M Regulator Not Working Properly

Beautiful weather here over the weekend so I got to shoot the Edgun a bit. My gun is a Matador R3M .25 Standard and I have had it almost a year an a half. I am going to guess it has around 1000 shots through it as of right now, and the only problem that I have had with the gun was it had a leak due to a gouge on one of the regulator o-rings. The first thing I noticed this weekend was that my zero was off by around .7 mils windage and elevation high and left. I corrected the zero and then wanted to chrono the gun to make sure the FPS hadn’t changed from my average of 915fps it was at last year. I shot 50 shots from 220bar down to 110 bar when it dropped off the regulator and you can see the results below. I then filled up the gun again to 220 bar and shot 3 more shots which are the last three at the end of the graph in the 700’s. Any ideas on what to look for?

When you disassemble the gun check that the valve pip has not separated from the body, and that the valve spring retainer has not backed out. Otherwise internal reg o rings made need changing and reg cleaned thoroughly.
