Q:

where is chepaest place for crickets?

Some times cheaper isn’t always better. Did you try Steve at Wildwestairguns? Great customer service and if your looking for a “tune” on your cricket, Ernest will do it.

Either one you get you won’t regret getting it. It’s a awesome gun.

I love my little BullPup .22 Cricket. The shortness of the gun makes it so handy and easy to carry and shoot. It’s right on par in the accuracy department with my .22 AirWolf MCT. Mine has the synthetic stock which is awesome. My vote is go for the BullPup.

Hi Scott,

I’d like to know how your 22 cal Compact is tuned, if it’s okay.

What pellet and velocity ? 18 grn pellet on top of each other set at 880 fps, got that.
Shot count and top off fill pressure ?
Regulator set at ?
Valve spring retainer setting if known ?

Thanks ~ GKU :tag:

I got a squirrel a couple of weeks ago sitting on a rock on the hillside across my creek at a lasered 81 yards with the CC 177 and a 10.34 starting at 900 fps from a Caldwell. He did a back flip and a few kicks. I figured it still has 8-9 fpe even at that range.

My Compact Cricket in 177 is my current favorite PCP until something better comes along. 😉

Love my compact 177 too. Its my favorite for backyard type shooting.

It not always the gun you know ,,,, ,,, , you are one fine shooter there SECoda !
Although I agree with you, the Compact 177 is my best PCP I have at the moment I will never sell her.
I read your post on “A Baby .177 Cricket is Born” it was a quick sell for me in making my mind up to get one soon after.

It should help tsakula make a wise decision as well.

wow did not know there was no difference in accuracy. if anyone has plastic stock, how good is its quality?wooden is too much for me. really dont have that much

The synthetic stock is fine. The main issue is weight. The synth stock is about 1 lb heavier than the wooden bulldog and about 2 lb heavier than the skeleton. If you carry the gun in long hikes like I do then this is a major issue and the lighter stock is a big deal. Keep in mind you will add another 16-24 oz for the scope and potentially a bipod so it adds up. If you will be mostly shooting in range or from your window or on bench then the weight is not a major factor (some would argue little heavier stock is better). The synth stock is also hardy and you wont worry much about scratches etc with it.

I’ve been meaning to ask this for a while now. Tony here a Tag has become a cricket dealer or is sell the guns. Has any one bought a gun from him? If he ensures accuracy and works the gun over before shipment isn’t that a not bad deal. Tony If you could spell out what you all do before you send gun out that would be a great help. A Ernest tunes cost $150 that adds to the over all price as well. Don’t know what the lead time is for an Ernest tune either.

My Compact Cricket in 177 is my current favorite PCP until something better comes along. 😉

i havent contacted WWAG. are they offering tune before shipping out? i mean ernest is from WWAG?
and whats main difference between standard and compact? i thought longer barrel is more accurate.
how many shots will i get from standard and compact in 177?

If you tune both guns the same JSB 10.34g to shoot @ 920 fps in both the only difference will be the shot count.
If you tune the longer barreled gun to shoot JSB 10.34g to a higher speed and it is stable at that speed which I doubt, then it could be.

Maybe harder to shoot because the pellet stay in the barrel longer.
If you are a larger person I’d might favor the longer barrel and length, if not the shorter one.

This of course this is IMO and other might have a heated debate on this topic alone.
You could repost it on a new tread and or do a search on it, there’s has been take about it here many times in the past.

hi guys. i think this thread will be good for new guys like me. where is cheapest place for crickets? i am looking for 177 standard because i think it will be more accurate than compact and plus more shots per fill. much more

tsakula and I wouldn’t believe a word from GKU he killed his Cricket live on this board it was like Reality TV

I believe Anthony from TT also works closely with Earnest. WWAG does not send your Cricket out tuned. You can pay to have Earnest tune it but honestly I am not sure if you will even need a tune. The Cricket is pretty awesome outta box. Maybe a depinger. I hear Earnest is awesome and I don’t doubt it anyone I have been recommended on these boards has done pretty damned g()()d work.

More shots yes maybe a mag or so more it depends on how it’s tuned, more accurate ?

Not necessarily so, a longer barrel gun can be harder to shoot well.

x2 on WWAG.
