Q:

NOOB first shots out of Condor are 86 ft LB

I finally had the time and weather to get the Condor set up and shot a few (25.4 gr) exact kings out of it in the yard with an R&L shroud. wow..LOUD.

I took it into the Garage and filled it to 2800 and shot some 42 grain Korean pellets out of it over a chrony just out of curiosity and to see what its maximum ft lbs out of the box are. It registered between 950 and 964 fps for four shots ( about 86 ft lb). Are they all this powerful. I have a new TT tophat coming to tame this beast but am excited at the potential. If these Eun Jin pellets are accurate, they will anchor a big old desert jack at considerable range.

The trigger was heavy crunchy and creepy when I got it. A quick cleanup and replacement of 1st stage spring made it about 2 lb and quite acceptable.

I have been a lurker for months and I appreciate all of your help.

thank you

That’s really good power dude. Is that in 22?? I’m miles off that and I’m packing a 24 inch barrel! My experience of Eunjins is they are superb. A hunting pellet with target pellet accuracy. Everything I have shot with a Eunjin at 28gr has gone lights out instantly. I do wash them before they go in my gun as they come with lead fleck on them. :fishinghole:

That is some nice power

That’s really interesting. So it is the bore / size of tophat hole that largely dictates noise level? I didn’t know that. I thought it was the tank valves themselves, but sure that makes sense. I think you have a really good gun there to reach those numbers with a restrictor in the tophat.

This is a .25 Condor with a long barrel. I just replaced some parts that arrived from TT after I posted previously. I now have it shooting Exact King ( 25.4 grain). At 920 to 935 with the large reducer in the TT tophat and with the power wheel set at about 6. It is much quieter and much more realistic for the animals I intend to hunt.

I shot it over the chrony today and I get about 21 shots in the sweet spot between 2700 and 2400 fill pressure. I can live with that. If the wind is down I will shoot it at paper tomorrow.
