hammer not catching?????
I have an SS, that I have “condorized” (21″ .25 TT barrel, hammer etc.) And since I removed the safety, sometimes the hammer doesn’t catch. I stretched the 3 springs a bit and that seemed to help. Now it works pretty good, any other trigger / hammer tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks on advance.

Had the same problem when I removed the safety.
My understanding of the mechanics here is that when cocking the hammer the sear gets engaged on releasing the hammer
where in the slight backward movement of the hammer does the engagement but it fails if the hammer sear move away from
the hammer before the engagement due to the 45 degree bevel.
This displacing movement is caused by the 45 degree bevel on the hammer sear which is necessary for a smooth hammer release.
Using a harder spring or moving the stock spring one notch further does help as it keeps the part pressed to the hammer and the increased friction on the 45 degree bevel does the job.
This remedy has the hammer sear rubbing harder against the hammer while cocking and during trigger release and to avoid this I did just the opposite.
I used a very light spring for the hammer sear but roughened the 45 degree bevel with a diamond file at the right place. Works perfect every time.
You don’t want it to be very rough to eat away the delrin part each time the trigger is released.
While the trigger parts are out we tend to mirror polish every part —-stay away from the 45 degree bevel.
Another mod would be to file away the sear where the spring rest at an opposite angle to allow easier movement to the sear backwards or to design a micro spring and use that to pull the sear back but again that is another story…
These are my personal observations.
Thanks for the replies….I removed the entire safety. I think I may need to deburr. Seems to be working good now. There was some silicone grease built up on the indent of the bottom of the breech and I think that was part of the problem.
Also I had that problem with my Talon SS 22 cal.
For me it turned out to be the safety flat bar that was slightly bent and it would rub up against the trigger group.
I remove it and made it straight, remove all burs, lightly Moly greased and the problem never returned.

did you leave in the piece that hangs down in front of the trigger? If you did the screws that hold the thinner sheet metal screwed to that safety blade came loose on my talon ss and I couldn’t cock it, it wouldn’t catch till those 2 screws were tight.

Im not good at explaining things. I use .4mm stainless wire to make a new spring. I replaced the 1st n 2nd from the back. And when i removed the safety toggle hammer wudnt catch. Try cocking it n hold it at the end for a second or two. If it catch the hammer, theres agood possibility that your second spring just a wee too light. When i had that problem, i replace it with longer spring and problem solved. Some use grease n problem is solved becoz they made it lighter for the spring to bounce back. I think longer spring would be a more permanent solution. Sorry if i confused u guys just bad at explaining. Ta
