Disgusted With My Condor… Need Opinions

Shooting Crossman Premier .22 Cal 14.3 grain Domed Pellets
At 20 yards it is DEAD NUTS ON. One tiny, ragged hole. Very happy there.
At 50 yards it is ALL OVER THE PLACE.
We’re talking about a 6″ spread, mostly in a horizontal fashion, but with vertical variation as well.
Some of the tares at 50 yards looks as if the pellets hit side ways, giving a large “sideways” looking pellet hole.
The only thing that makes sense is unstable pellet flight due to a too powerful Condor and an underweight pellet.
This is the only pellet I have at the moment. Will be trying others shortly.
What else could be going on here? Please help if you can!

I have never had good luck with Crosman premiers. The head sizes vary too much per tin and I don’t feel like measuring and separating every tin of pellets to get 2-3 piles of pellets that will group but in different places.
To slow it down for lighter pellets you can try a .045 nylon washer behind the top hat. That will slow it down. I use the washers left over from putting a metal shed together. I just size them by sanding them to the desired thickness. The TTTqc top hat is a very nice investment but you can go cheap and easy first and see if its where you want it. the fatter the washer the slower it will shoot because it limits the amount of air coming out of the valve.

I am assuming my FPS will be less in 2,000-1,600 PSI range… If that does improve my groups would mean that I either need to find a heavier pellet or use a Quick Change Top Hat to slow my FPS down.
I will start with JSB 18 grainers and go from there!
yes, your too hot for the 14,3 CP, shoot it down to 1.5-1.6 psi and it’ll be better, 18gr JSB for higher bottle PSI, before i had a regulator and scuba i shot in the 1.5-2000 psi range for easier hand pumping, JSB 14.3 or 16gr is a good pellet for that range

I lost accuracy today. As I had just fitted a new moderator, I assumed that was the problem. But it wasn’t. One of the vertical grub screws securing the barrel bushings to the gun had come lose. Not greatly, but enough to have big vertical range in POI. I had heard someone on here say that his grub screws would come lose after a few weeks. Sure enough it has happened to me. I have some ideas to fix the problem. I have a couple of spare bushings. I will add these so I have four rather than two. I will also replace the grubs for screws with heads so that they can sit tight against the frame. This should greatly reduce the chance of them working lose. Airforce has cut corners with just two bushings. Might be okay with low power and 12 inch barrels but definitely not at the higher cals and barrel lengths.
