Shooting Crossman Premier .22 Cal 14.3 grain Domed Pellets
At 20 yards it is DEAD NUTS ON. One tiny, ragged hole. Very happy there.
At 50 yards it is ALL OVER THE PLACE.
We’re talking about a 6″ spread, mostly in a horizontal fashion, but with vertical variation as well.
Some of the tares at 50 yards looks as if the pellets hit side ways, giving a large “sideways” looking pellet hole.
The only thing that makes sense is unstable pellet flight due to a too powerful Condor and an underweight pellet.
I have shot with the power wheel on higher settings and have seen no improvements.
This is the only pellet I have at the moment. Will be trying others shortly.
What else could be going on here? Please help if you can!

Mine is tuned for 15fpe, for precise accuracy, but I still took a crow at 65 yards with head shot. With 16 gr…lol

Is your gun shrouded. If so it could be clipping the shroud. If this is the case just rotate the shroud until clipping stops.
Really, even with yours? That thing looks like it packs a punch buddy.

Err just seen the price of the predator metalmags on eBay, that’s way too much for me. Top end 25 calibre money. Pellets would be too light for my gun anyway.
Thanks for the tip Salticon – I’ll take a punt on a tin of metal mags then for my pigeon hunting. Some of the pigeons round my way must be on cocaine, 60 foot pound body shots in 22 cal and they don’t always die instantly. Do I really need to go to 25 cal…
metal mags are more accurate than the poly in my findings
Besides PW up a little and shooting with lower PSI -1700-1200 or less, Wash those pellets and see how much lead flake comes off them. Dry them good and roll sort them. Even some other brands can improve from a little attention to the details.
I’ve found some different sizes in generally cleaner pellet brands to be dirtier than that brands usual.
I think a very light lube is in order if you are not going to shoot the washed pellets right away.

It’s usually the pellet choice that makes the gun sing..
Generally a heavier pellet with be more stable with more speed and longer ranges in the wind.
With each pellet chosen you’d need to find what velocity it likes and check it at 50,75 and 100 yards to see if it holds a good group.
I have found JSB to be the best in all most all my Airguns and a few with H&N barracudas/kodiaks.
With each gun I like to end up with at lease 2 pellet choices.

Get some kodiaks as well. They have the weight you need for that gun.
@Chrissyboy, thanks for the tip. I’ll be ordering the JSB 18ers, Eunjin Domed and maybe a few other heavier ones. I sense more hype about the Polymags than not. They appear to do some good damage but accuracy is king for me. Just glad you chimed in on this. Will report back once the tins get in
@Lurker#1, I shot from 3,000-1,800 numerous times. I never noticed a tightening of the groups. Maybe if I went even lower it might improve. At this point I’m tossing these pellets aside. Going to go for the JSBs as Chrissyboy suggested.
The top hat does not appear to be lose either.
I won’t even mention FPS but how about PSI ❓
Did you fill to 3000 and keep shooting groups until they tighten up and then check the PSI to see what that pellet likes ❓

I would start with the PW around 3 or 4 and shoot down to 1700 PSI or at least until the POI drops off,
The polymags aren’t that good buddy to be perfectly honest. I’ve tested them with 24 inch barrel. Okay accuracy but nowhere near JSB accuracy. I wont buy any more of them. For a hunting pellet I recommend Eunjin domed, they are very accurate and put the smack down.
Yeah some pellets just work in certain barrels and some don’t. When I had the 12 inch 22 cal barrel the 15 grain JSBs were best and the 18grain JSBs were average but as soon as I switched to 24 inch barrel the JSBs in 18grain went top dog. I’m getting half inch groups at 50 yards with no strays ever.
