Q:

.22 cal JSB 18.1 velocity

What is the perfect optimal velocity for a .22 cal condor SS, shooting JSB 18.1 gr?? I have a ttth with the biggest restrictive insert set on the absolute lowest the power wheel will go with an oring behind the ttth. I am getting 966-988fps. Is that still to fast? I am filling to 2800 from 2400psi. Appreciate some advice.

Tony makes smaller inserts, ive got about 5 differant sizes, i able to shoot down to 12-15 fpe with 13gr jsb

I have the ttth shooting with the smallest insert and the tt anti slap hammer. Psw on 2 with a 2000 psi fill. Fps on my chronograph starts at 800 drops to 765 after about 30 shots psi in the thank drops to about1600. At 40 yrds shooting off a rest ( not sand bags or vise) I can easily shoot a 1/2 group of 10 shots. This is what my condor SS with 18″ barrel shooting jsb 18.1 likes. Can’t say yours will be the same

How I adjusted mine was figure out how fast I wanted to shoot. Install oring behind top hat, adjusted my pw to 1-2, started shooting over chrony & making small adjustments to my top hat till I got my desired fps. Then l locked down the top hat screws with lock tite. My Condor SS shoots pw 1-2 baracudas 31gr at 850-860 for at least 35 shots, crank it up to pw 1-12 get baracudas flying at 945.

With pw below 1-2 I get erratic fps.

Ordering some rat sniper slugs tomorrow to see how they do.

u can always put thicker oring or some kind of washer behind tophat to restrict the travel. and then you can fine tune it with pw as long the hammer doesnt hit the valve to hard opening it all the way

Thanks for the advice! How do I slow it down though? Power wheel is all the way down. The biggest restrict or is in the top hat.

Use the insert with the smallest hole, PW on 3, fill at 2500-2000psi, chrony that and see what you got, still to fast? Shoot to 1600psi, my Condor is regulated at 1600 psi

ive found that 18 gr likes sub 900, 860-890, after that the pellet starts to swirl. ive shot the 18gr at 780fps and did 1” groups at 75+yards.
