I have to agree with you Mike. I have several VERY nice shotguns and rifles with nice wood. But my go to gun is my Remington 40X in .22-250. 45+ years of dragging it around Wyoming shooting P-dogs has taken it’s toll on the stock, but after 3 barrels it still shoots one hole at 100 yards and under a dime at 200.
I really like pretty guns, But I prefer one that can shoot one whole groups at 50 and 100 yards , Looks really matters very little to me, Its all about shot placement.
If it shoots good and looks good that’s just a plus, If it shots good and is a little banged up, That’s ok with me,,,,,,
