Bipod on EDgun Matador???
Fellas,
Would you consider installing a bipod on your EDgun Matador? Or stick to shooting rests? Sand bags?

I mounted a bipod on my R3M. A 6″~9″ Harris clone. I use it for bench shooting. I find that with the legs folded it makes a stabilizing base for shooting (off my knee) as well.

Snipper…can you tell us what kind of shooting you favor? From the car, out on the porch, in the forest, on the prairie?
It all makes a big difference in what can be recommended. The forum members range from back yard assassins to long distance shooters….we need to know who should respond.

I like using sticks I found that bipods limit my options A bipod either requires you to get a super long heavy bipod or shoot from the prone position. The bipod also throws the balance of the gun off. For bench shooting I just use bags. I often shoot from the car. It is easy to sneak up on crows that way. Using a rail on the forend of the EDgun would scratch my car. These are the reasons I chose to just use a trigger tripod

I put a Magpul short picatinny on my Edgun Long .25 caliber. With a 6″ to 9″ bipod, there wasn’t much that couldn’t be hit at distances that I could clearly see. The younger bucks could really drive tacks with that setup, or from a bench.
I drilled a couple of pilot holes and used short wood screws. Never a problem!
The only recommendation I’d make is use as short a picatinny rail as possible, for your needs. A four slot can hold anything you are generally going to mount on an Edgun, unless you plan on using a side mount for a light, then longer makes sense.
