Q:

breech to seal bigger fpe

hi guys
i got condor .25 with dyotat valve and spring n 103g hammer, 250bar wp tank which im still running at 3100psi max. i cast my own bullet and my problem at the moment whenever i shoot, the air escaping from the breech. im only getting 140ish fpe max before air starts escaping. i can do 155fpe but theres gonna be massive air escaping so im loosing a lot of power. the front part i guess i can always machine a new breech with double oring to seal to the barrel. now the back part is the problem since the tophat travels. one of the way i can think of is if i machine a new tophat with longer top so i can put 2 oring seals. just wondering if thats the way to go. thanks

Thanks guys. Ill try that. Yeah i guess tophat wont travel that much separated from the breech or not at all perhaps. Anyway thank u.

Also, remember to use a bit of silicone lube on the O rings and that the sealing surfaces should be clean and smooth.

You need new o rings. No reason for 2 o rings. I have run 4200 psi thru my .257 and .308 breeches with no problems. Your breech might be getting tired also. Machine a new one and use 109 90d o rings. The stock ones are 011 and softer. You can try 011 90d also.

The o ring on the top hat does not move. The one on the other end slides on the barrel when the hammer hits the breech. The o ring has to fit the barrel just right. It needs to just be snug. To tight and the breech won’t slide right and you will get tank dump. The top hat side can be tighter.
