At 22.75″ the Taipan short is pretty compact but I’d like to know how quiet it can be. I’m sure a 4″-5″ slightly fatter LDC can make it even more quiet when needed.

Yes agreed Fudd. But when you add four inches you are at the size of a Standard Cricket.

It has been around longer than you think… It was previously called the Raptor 3 compact.

The more I see the Taipan short action, the more I like it. Nice compact size. Just add an LDC and a compact scope and it looks really nice.

Personally I am a little skeptical about buying a short gun and adding inches too it via an LDC. If I am buying a 22 inch gun I want it to be quiet or I could just buy a Cricket which is the same length and already quiet.

I saw that pip. I was wondering how I was going to best use this gun. I think it’s meant to be shot from a car.

Do you have a deposit on a Leyla my magnificent brother Keyser Soze? And if so what caliber?

Thanks Wingman :8:

So actually the Taipan/Mutant is a consolidated platform, good to know.

The one in the video most be the short/compact version and also the stock looks very interesting, seems to give a firm grip.

The more I see this gun the more I like it.

Keyser,
The Taipan was not yet existing so he could not be a contender.

Keyser,

I don’t have these airguns anymore but yes I confirm the Lelya was the shortest but the Cricket Compact was not much longer and certainly shorter than a Matador Short.

The Taipan was not yet existing so he could not be a contender.

To be perfectly honest, while the Lelya being shorter seeming to be an advantage, for me personally shouldering and holding it was feeling awkward and this is probably why Ed finally decided to make a longer “butt end” for the Lelya.

The today’s stock is a bit longer.

Pip the cricket compact is way bigger than a Lelya. Plus the stock sucks. The Lelya is 4 inches shorter. The Lelya is even shorter than the Taipan short which I consider the Lelya’s only competitor.

Magnificent Cousin Oakey,

I’m sorry but I can’t ask this to our Magnificent Uncle  :hoot:.

The Lelya has been in his dreams for so many years and just only thinking about you shooting your neighbor’s chickens with his beloved Lelya would make him completely mad and probably put him in a persistent vegetative state.

This probably would be the most cruel and remorseless act humanity has ever seen and would be engraved in memory for millenniums to come.

Please wait patiently your Lelya to arrive and I’m sure in the years to come your wait will be rewarded.

Please remember, the Lelya represents the “goddess of spring and love” so probably and hopefully next spring you will see some love from Ed. 😀

Nice wood on that matador short, the cricket compact is even shorter, very close to the length of the lelya.

Anybody knows the specs of the short/compact taipan?

My Amazingly Marvelous cousin Sir. Pippo this is a very nice gun this tiny .22 EDgun shorty. Ask our grande uncle of his precious Leyla. Ask if he will send it too his favorite nephews for a test ride?
