Q:

What is valve lock?

My SS shoots fine until I fill to 2100 psi. After that it doesn’t seem to be striking the top hat hard enough to release any air. It’s 177 w/12″ barrel.

Talon/Talon SS

Hi,

I think he should try adjusting the tophat. The hammer in the talon is heavy enough to get to 3000psi.
Unless something was changed (spring or hammer) the solution is to adjust the reach of the tophat.

If the tophat is too far back, at higher pressure the hammer will barely impact it and won’t be able to move it.
Also it could be that the stem is gunked and needs to be removed and cleaned. Maybe a little silicon grease on it.

My 2c.

Hi, you simply have too light a hammer weight versus pressure in tank. You need one of Tony’s brass hammers, that will open the valve fully. I recommend for a few extra dollars the anti slap one and I also recommend you get the one he does for the Condor, not the Talon, as that is a lot lighter. The Condor hammer will fit in your Talon. You will effectively then be down the road towards a TalonDor. Make sense?

Hi,

I can’t be sure without a look, but I think your tophat moved backward. Maybe it got loose and slowly moved.
I would check the retaining screws and move it forward a bit. Then try again until you get the sweet spot.

Cheers

Chris
