The gun just screams Quality and great R/D, love the minimalistic approach, the gun is Lightweight and has great ergonomics and balance.
Love the 1911 Grip, the trigger blade, the safety and the adjustable butt pad.
The sidelever is sharp and light with a quick short precise motion.
the trigger scared me happy.gifhappy.gif way to light for what I’m used too but I’m sure most people will love it, It breaks very, very nicely.
Ihe Pup is incredibly quiet for a nearly 300 FPE gun ( when this gun comes out in the regulated Small bore versions it will be a really, really quiet gun )
The design aloud to get the scope pretty close to the bore, not being able to do that is in my opinion the big downfall in the BullPups.
The Magazine is en route, but I took a few shots by Handloading, the recoil is nice and sharp so is the shot cycle.
There’s been enough independent reviewers shooting this gun that we already have lots of data on power and accuracy, the gun was sent to me with a bunch of ammo that is known to be accurate, …but I’ll concentrate in testing other rounds.
I’ll be doing the initial testing with a 160gr Matt’s bullet a 140gr Matt’s bullet and a 101gr Aero Magnum bullet
If that 160gr prove hunting worthy ( I shot 5 round today and initially it looks good ) I’ll do a chrono string on it to see where the fps, FPE is.
also I bought one of those MrodAir 5000 psi pumps for this review, so I’ll review that pump alongside ( used it already and so far looks real good )
My main review will be about Hunting this gun and how it performs in the field

Like I say I am waiting for the 25 . But who is going to carry these guns?
I would like a price list and specs when the small bores come out,,,
I think this is the years of the PCP air guns,

Thanks for your review of this gun, Manny. Looks like a must-have for the collector and hunter. Since Dan at XP hasn’t communicated or answered e-mails regarding a Ranger, on order for over two years, I may bag that plan and reserve the funds for a Slayer. It would be great to locate a bullet mold to cast ammo for this one, to recycle trapped lead pellets.
Even with desiccants, the 95+% humidity here was making me nervous using a hand pump. That and Dyotat’s .25 slug beast encouraged getting a Bauer and CF tank. Does your hand pump use desiccant or only a water trap/blow-off?

Have not seen any chrony numbers for this using the various sized ammo I’ve seen. I’m going to get the .357 when it hits the market for I’m in the need of a bull pup and this one far exceeds any expectations I might have. Was going to go with the fx impact but this is same amount as the impact and best part is it’s made in AMERICA. That is very very sweet thing!! If there is any numbers point me where they might be I’d like to see them. Thanks

Ok than,
I had this gun for about a month now and the bottom line is that she is built as well as you’ll expect a gun to be built,
From the materials to the attention to details to the mechanical functions,……I’ve shot quite a few of the very High end guns and this one is as good and better than any of those.
Still I can’t get over how light the cocking action is for such a powerful gun, I can only imagine how fantastic it will be on the small bores and the sub 100 FPE guns, ……again that cocking action is just phenomenal, short, light, precise and crisp.
The Probe design just blows me away, so smart with the retractable section so there’s no interference for the air to fight and the projectile harnesses the full energy inputted.
The magazine is built like a tank, solid metal and functions perfectly.
The Trigger is outstanding and it took me sometime to get used to it because it’s soooo light and crisp.
Ergonomics and balance are top, the pistol grip and butt pad are just perfect IMO,
An other thing I still can’t get over is how quiet for such a powerful gun this is,
again when the small bores come out they should be real, real quiet.
I love the no nonsense minimalistic design, no fluff just Business.
I’ve only shot at 50 yards and If I do my part the gun is a rugged hole with various ammo all day, on that subject, several indipendent well respected member of the community shot the Slayer at long range and reported incredible accuracy.
Also, again respected airgun community members had a look of the insides and reports on those part where incredibly positive, not something I can confirm but by the way the gun operates I have to doubts that the internals designs are again outstanding.
The only thing I really don’t like about the gun is the absence of a barrel band, but I understand the philosophy behind it,
I for one will never buy a gun that lacks a barrel band, that’s Just me being me ;D ;D ;D
All I can say is when AmericanAirArms comes out with all the lines and calibers Western European and Eastern European Airgun makers will have an 100% true American made rifle that will give them a serious run for their money.
I personally would like to see the AmericanAirArms guns come out in 3 configurations,
The “Bullpup”, the “Wood stock rifle” and a “Minimalistics rifle” using the same pistol grip and bottom rail and either a folding or removable Collapsible stock.

Good grief Manny! That’s some nasty terrain! We have mud aplenty, but not usually all that steep climbing and sliding down! Your close up shots of the pig look like lots of them I’ve taken from archery kills, but zoom out a bit and… BIG difference!
Summertime Hunting,
The Porkers in Summertime don’t need to move much since there’s plenty to eat on the forest floor so they prefer to stay put in the narrow thick gulches and feast.
We need to go in and look for them,
I was cruising in this gulch when all of a sudden I heard the unmistakable sound of a Hog crushing Kukui nuts ( I was a bit surprised because usually they leave those for the winter and feast on fruits in the summer, but hey, who am I to complain ? ;D )
I slowly approached the bend in front of me and as I rounded it I immediately spotted a very nice young Boar, closed in a few more yards to about 35 and when I had a clear path I grabbed a tree with my left hand, placed the gun on my wrist and got ready to shoot, he was actually standing with his back legs on the slope and his all snout in a Hole, the shot opportunity wasn’t perfect since he was giving me a 3/4 view of the skull with the sweet spot right at the corner, this is a shot I would never take with a small bore, heck even with my .357 Rainstorm I would definitely prefer to wait for a better one, but this gun and ammo combination is so powerful and accurate that I knew I would be alright, so I got the Crosshairs on the spot and let the 160gr Wide Nose go to find its target.
My Immediate thoughts where,….man this gun is quiet even in the silent narrow walled full canopy jungle, ….The impact was loud, and than I noticed that during the dance there was a lot of Blood being sprayed.
Let’s go check that boar out.
As I approached it and turn it around I Immediately realised why so much blood
The impact.
And the reason for all that blood to my total surprise was that the bullet did a complete Pass through and exited by the Jaw
Devastating Hit.
Sorry Tom, the Slayer has a bunch of mud on ;D ;D ;D

Tom : im glad you came up with this. everything about this gun is not wasteful. i cant think of a better design to take to the wood. no long rifle to hit branches, no stock weight to carry, bonus with repeater too. this is by far the gun for me.
So today I made an other little video.
I wanted to cover the loading of the magazine, the lever operation, …….most of all the sound ( that why the camera is placed real close to the muzzle ) and in the process I shot a 4 rounds group at 50.
The other 2 groups I shot yesterday.

That’s a nice looking gun, A little to large for my sparrow shooting,
I agree 100 % on the full floating barrel, I did the Marauder dance,
Also looking down the front of the gun at air gauge, Is it that hard to put in on the side..

Agreed on the switch of port and guage, 275 FPE pointed at my eye is uncomfortable. Hell a rice crispie shot with that much air would do some damage!
I will agree with manny on two points (1) I do not like having to look at the barrel end of any gun even though I know that I do not have
a live round in the chamber to check my psi gauge level . (2) The psi gauge should be placed on the side of the gun for personal safety .
I can live with a light trigger because a heavy trigger will 9 out of 10 times make you pull the trigger harder and make your gun pull more to the
left or right depending if you are a lefty or righty and pull the muzzel out of a true straight alignment and make you miss your mark .
