Q:

Tuning .25 condor 24" barrel. Need help

Shot string for .25 condor with 31 grn. Grizzly bullets. What could I do to flatten the curve and get more shot count with this same power, obtaining more efficiency…
It appears to get 25 good shots mabye more like 20, but this seems low for 490cc capacity. Starts at 948fps ends 945fps. Fill start 2950psi to 2100psi. I less spread on the bell curve

More hammer spring gets higher fps with sharper cure(more spread possibly) and even less shots. If I go lower spring tension it’ll require lower fill pressure resulting in lower fps and less shot count. Should I be happy with this shot string..
I have not messed with the top hat, it’s still at factory setting. I have washer to put behind it but I’ll need to file it down more to let the valve open up more. The current washer I have will restrict it to 880 fps for when I use pellets.

Grizzlys like to shoot no less than 945 fps or the grouping go sour. Let me know what you guys think of the data. Sorry it wouldn’t let put it in a graph from my phone.

The grizzlys group pretty good. better than the jsb king heavy pellets 34grners. Groups at 53 yards are around nickel sized groups to a quarter sized. I can consistently hit a soda can at 134 yards with them. They are pretty accurate out to 150 yards. They like to be shot faster…faster than 950 and slower than 1020. I have mine at 970 average and they do good. So any ideas on getting this condor more efficient?

Also curious about the Grizzlies.been looking just never put in cart. had good luck with Rat Snipers, and the Hunters Supply have a use.

I would be happy with that. I look at like this, if your hunting you wouldn’t need more than 25 shots. 25 squrriels or rabbits is a lot to kill. What kind of groups are you getting with Grizzly’s? I’ve been trying to get 10 shots out of my talodor in the 900 fps range with 45gr slugs, but I can only get 5. Oh the joy of tuning!!

44 total deviation, is not bad, you can buy insert kit from talon tunes, to restrict and even things out.

There are many much more knowledgeable than I on here, but as I have a 25 cal Condor I will give it a go. Your shot string looks good to me but a bummer if you can’t drop below that fps. For me you can’t beat the JSB Exact Kings 25.39 grain. The Baracuda 32 grains are also a very good pellet for the 25 cal and cheap. I have tried heavier slugs, but I think accuracy outweights all else and in my barrel the heavier things I have tried like Eunjins dont compare to the JSBs and Baracudas.

As you probably know you can fire the JSBs in a big old fps range. I’ve actually just taken my Condor down from 24inch to 18 and I am very pleased with the accuracy and very minimal loss in power. I’m running Tony’s latest gen 5 shroud, which allows me to crank up the tank without things getting too loud. Have fun with your gun. If you are happy with the slugs you use then twenty shots should be more than enough for hunting. One of the things people also forget with big shot strings is your POI moves down a lot, so sometimes its easier to just top up the tank rather than adjust the scope.
