Q:

Another Vulcan Lover

Can’t really say much that hasn’t already been said regarding the new Vulcan. I purchased the 25 with an Aeon 6-24 scope from Tony at Talon Tunes and simply love it. Tony had everything sighted in and ready to go for me with excellent service and shipping care. Shooting consistently 928 fps with JSB Kings and one ragged hole at 35 yards for me using only shooting sticks for a rest from a chair. Action smooth, able to easy maintain sight picture between shots cocking with left hand and trigger right.

I don’t have much experience to compare it to other than my only other Bullpup…Evanix Max ML 22.

The Vulcan feels almost half the poundage of the Evanix and more like a pistol than a rifle. The sound is about equal for the two with a fairly loud “ping” but the Evanix is a 22 and Vulcan a 25 which says a lot. I am fine on my 5 acres but wouldn’t recommend it in a suburban development. The Vulcan is exactly what I was looking for in a high powered compact varmint rifle that would be easy to transport and shoot from an ATV. My only complaint so far is the scope to barrel distance which is inherent with bullpups. Mine is 2-5/8 inches and will just require thinking through the pellet trajectory before pulling the trigger.

I zero mine at 50 yards also. At shots around 10 yards or so I hold 2 mil dot high.

There is talking lately with close quarter shots and I think we just need t get in practice like we do with our long range shooting. It does help having a 50 yard zero to start off with.

Congratulations on your new gun. You did buy a quality rifle to say the least. These are fine guns. I love my 25 also. Why is the scope distance an issue. Do you make a lot of sub 25 yard shots? The Evanix scope is mounted alot higher than Vulcan

Thanks eelect. I mainly dispatch ground squirrels that do damage to our landscape and the shot distance ranges from less than 10 yards to 50 yards plus. The close in shots are the ones that throw me and tend to forget to hold so high. I am re scoping the Evanix which is currently 3+” with a SWFA that should get me to a little over 2.

Nice AJ, I’m hoping that Tony has mine sighted in and 100 kills under his belt before he sends it…
