New Nikko Scope

I picked up a like new Nikko Stirling Diamond 10-50×60. I was Leary from the reviews I read on the net, but I got a great deal on it so I jumped. Purchased his scope for my 75-100 yard gun. Mounted it on my .22 last night and I got to say is WOW! The glass is as good if not better than my 32x hawkes. The perimeter shade clears up better than the Hawke and has a better view meaning you don’t see the eye piece framing like on the Hawke. It has a mildot reticle that isn’t as refined as the Hawke but is better than a CP scope I have. At full power it darkens up slightly but still very useable. It’s huge and little on the heavy side, it’s going on a BR gun so that’s ok. Turrents are a dream to use, but take a lot of time to set back to zero, 3 grub screws to loosen to set back to zero. Over all I’m happy with it.

I have the Sightron 10-50×60 on my .25. I almost got a used Nikko but wanted lines instead of dots. It’s good for close range but doesn’t have a lot of adjustment for long range. I will probably put it on my .30 for the 75 yd shoot.

I took it with me to a friend’s house up in the dessert yesterday and was shooting marble size rocks at 40 yds. I don’t shoot it very often but when I do I remember how quiet and good it shoots.

Just as I was getting the family in my truck my friend goes “let’s see what you got” and points at a bunny off across the road at around 85 yds. So I pull it out and put the tank back on it. Took aim and had to hold for wind and distance. Pulled the trigger and SMACK. My friend couldn’t believe how hard it hit the bunny. It’s shooting 25.4 gr JSB’s in the 940’s for 100+ shots last time I checked.

10x through a glass door, over cast day

50x all at 60yards, love this scope!
