Q:

Other Pellets

Alright guys so time is a ticking away, less than two weeks till I have my 25 Vulcan. . I’ve heard a lot of reports of stellar accuracy especially with the AA& JSB 25.4 gr pellets. But I am curious how other pellets are grouping predator poly mags perhaps H&N barracudas and some of the other heavies. Putting together a pellet order for Pyramyd Air and curious what else to get other than the staples.

Yes results speak much louder than chronograph numbers I am a big fan of heavy pellets. 815 is a real solid speed. Accuracy speaks far louder to me

quote FVA:

My advice would be to try the heavies at various ranges before you chronograph them. They shoot surprisingly flat and hit HARD. Likely you will be disappointed at the launch velocity when you shoot over the chronograph wondering why real world results are so good at non internet impressive launch speeds. Don’t be.

DITTO THAT! My Vulcan launches the Heavies @ 815fps and has proven to be the most accurate pellet tested to date. If you run the numbers through Chairgun, you will find just how much more FPE they have at 75+ yards. Plus their higher BC allows them to cope with wind much better.
.4 CTC groups @ 46 yards are the norm, even though the “nut behind the butt” needs constant attention!

There we go that’s what I’m talking about! Thank you FVA.. I like to hear that yours is handling the JSB heavies well. The one thing I was thinking of that may make the gun a little more user friendly would be an external access to a regulator adjustment. Small fries as I really don’t plan to mess with mine, I wonder what speed those JSBs are averagingthe 34.95s I mean

I did my testing at 75 and 100 yards.
JSB and the AA badged 25.4’s shoot great.
So did the JSB 33.95 Heavies.
Benjamin domes were right on their heels.
Polymags shot OK but not the tight clusters I was getting from the previous three pellets.
Barracuda Hunter Extremes shot poorly. I’ve yet to have them shoot to my standards in any air rifle.
All I’ve tried so far.
Obviously YMMV.

I have polymags but forgot to try them. Maybe one of these days. My shots are mostly 50 yards and beyond so if the pellet doesn’t perform at that distance it’s not in the best interest.

Cool e please post results. I am hoping someone has luck with Poly mags still love the carnage.

I’m going to try the H&N hunter hollow points. They should be here Wednesday

Yeah, how about the Baracudas? Don’t they have a higher BC? So why aren’t they talked anout?
