Q:

Cricket Compact – How Many Fills From an 88 Cu Ft Tank?

The number of fills my Compact gets from an 88 cu ft tank is never the same. The owner of the dive shop tells me the tank is at 4400 psi each time I pick it up. So the last 4 tanks I wrote down every fill and kept everything consistent, filling the gun to 210 bar when it got down to 105 bar. When the tank hit 2900 psi I stopped using it and brought it in to be filled. The Compact was shooting JSB 10.3’s right around 900 fps for all 4 tanks.

1st tank = 29 fills
2nd tank = 31 fills

After picking up the tank on the 2nd fill I explain to the owner I am conducting a test to see how many fills the 88 cu ft tank can provide the same gun under consistent conditions. He says his compressor is high power so it fills the tank fast causing the air to warm and expand. When it cools the psi drops but says he will fill the tank a second time just call before coming to pick it up.

3rd tank = 39 fills
4th tank = 41 fills

Anyone using an 88 or 97 cu ft tank to fill a Compact or a standard Cricket? Any info or opinions would be appreciated.

I read the 88 and 97 cu ft tanks hold the same amount of air but do not know if this is true or not.

The company that fills my tank fills it to 4800 psi and it cools to around 4500 psi.

It’s a dive shop so I guess they know what they are doing…been filling there about5 years.

Sorry, I’ve never tracked the number of fills as I usually refill from 125 to 150b.
