600 yds-3 inch Group-Video
Hi All,
First time trying at 600 yds…..First 4 shots fired after turning camera on. 2nd is over the back, but 3 shots are in 3 inches….The wind then came up and moved me to the FRONT quarter of the steel ram…..I had 21 hits total on the steel at 600 yds but had some misses when wind blew and mirage up until i got back in time with it……I cropped video to first 4 shots and 1 minute. Rifle view diagonally across 1000 yd range and furtherest RAM on Silhouette Range to get the 600 yds…….

After all my mods to the rifle I am still finding just how far out it will go, 100 yd increase at a time??? Am set up with elevation on scope RAIL to next test when a decent day wind wise to try into the 700-750 range…….I THINK i can hit that far and possible another test session even 800 yds….I am stretching this thing TO MAX IT OUT, just to find out what is possible…

Thank you but no 1000………….It will actually travel that far according to ballistics but the DROP of over 220 MOA would need special ramp built to have the forward slope on scope mounting rail. to NOT BE LOOKING AT END OF BARREL 😯 ……..AND unless you had a WINDLESS DAY you would need someone at target site to see any dirt fly as would be relatively WEAK and may even be tumbling by that time??? I DO THINK 800 on a calm day is doable………when i get a decent day forecast will try next at 700 or little more??? Long range shows next week or more to much wind at COALINGA RANGE…….. The .257 platform is i BELIEVE the best long range bullet??? IMO

Thanks…..I shoot tethered and regulated and not concerned with “how many shots”.. Gun built to do just what i am doing, TESTING LIMITS. No 9mm and have no interest…For super long range i believe the small long projectiles are best with the .257…Super larger valves may provide better with the wide and heavier slugs??? I may be wrong?? Doug Noble has the best valve at this time….I have an R & L valve and Doug’s is at least 60 fps faster if not MORE, if all else same……….You keep asking this question. Doug already gave you the answer. I already wrote you an e-mail and explained it all………….Buy the freakin TEXAN you say it’s what you want so badly, and Forget all the BS asking same thing, already answered by persons WHO ARE ACTUALLY DOING IT!!!!

Wow impressive! How many shots do you get on a fill? I often think about this caliber when upgrading my condor. Have you ever tried a 9mm barrel? I would love to get one of those Doug Noble valves and a decent sized .257 barrel. I want to know the difference of the extreme valve from R &L. I wished I lived in the US to acquire all the fun toys for the zombie apocalypse 🙂

Thanks……….Lot of time, experimentation, and trial and error………Pushing the envelope to see what is possible with the .257…..Will make a change in projectile i believe for 700-800 yds as got the new mold last week……It is testing fine at 100 and ballistics are better than anything i have shot before and just cast some more while ago…………..Carl

No excuses….At that time i had ONLY shot to 600 yds…..I guessed i COULD hit at 800 yds MAYBE? Considering the bullets being shot at the time and whether i had enough MOA on the scope rail to get further and if i just didn’t see end of barrel as rear rail was raised?…..Lot i didn’t know at this time…….Also after this i bought a LBT MOLD of 92 grs dropped and excellent bullet for further accuracy down range…….As i creeped up 100 yds distance at a time, it became CLEAR i could get 1000 yds with equipped the way I was……Plus since NO ONE had done it before, wasn’t sure.. Now anyone with proper equipment and a gun capable can just go do it…..They have that now as IT IS POSSIBLE……Won’t be easy but possible…Thanks for looking.
