New boy getting a Talon SS

Hi guys

I’ve been a lurker for a while and now I’m finally going to be a new owner in a week or so.
I’ve settled on the Talon SS mainly because when I return to the UK I’ll want to take the gun with me and in the mean time I want it to be back yard friendly and draw as little attention as possible. My previous experience is with magnum springers and this will be my first pcp.

I’m not too bothered about achieving extraordinary power levels, I think the various barrel swaps will be enough for my needs. I’m far more interested in accuracy, smooth refinement, small foot print and making it as quiet as possible. The Talon SS to Go would be my dream gun.

So I’ve spent the last two days reading every thing that I can get my hands on and I have a few questions if that’s ok.

Can the quick change top hat be used on a standard Talon SS?
I’ve read that the mod offers high, medium and low output, its pellet dependent I now but could you give me an idea of how that would translate into fpe

Could this be used as a way to limit the gun to the UK legal limit?

I’ve identified the Hammer slap mod as being a good idea, is there anything else that I should look at?

I haven’t got it yet, I’m home in September so I’ll sort it then.
Failing that it’ll go on my cousin’s ticket so I should be covered
People at home seem pretty cool with the limit which really surprises me.

Glad you got the FAC, similar to Canadians PAL, that way you should have few hassles taking the Condor home. Yeah I still could use a Condor as I do have a .308 barrel just sitting here!

Yes I’ve been thinking quite hard about that.

I actually sent emails to people at home asking about parts compatibility and the like and I too thought about buying at home and avoiding problems that way but no one answers emails and apparently no one’s sells them anymore either.

Similarly its only today that I found the UK sub 12fpe section on here so despite my efforts when decision time came round I didn’t have the info I need to make a sensible and informed choice. So I did the only thing possible and jumped right in any way 😀

Funnily enough I was seriously thinking of asking you to baby sit it for me if things got difficult but then I remembered that you only had eyes for the Talon and wouldn’t be interested so I decided to get my FAC instead :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

I hope you have the proper firearms letter to take that back to the UK! I know the Talon or Condor go way over 12 ft/lb limit!!

Think you’d be best off to have the British counterpart and not have the hassles when you go home!

OR buy the condor and then sell it to me when you go home! :biggrinn:
