Chrony suggestions anyone???
So I’m looking to buy a Chrony…alpha, beta, Red, Green, Blue…Prochrono. I don’t know anything about them except they measure fps of a projectile. Any advice is welcomed..Thanks. :fishinghole: for information!

Sir Ville
I ordered and already received my tabletop air chrony…how far to you hold the end of the barrel from the opening? Based on the online instructions, I think he is recommending 1/2 inch or 1 cm?
Thanks for the discussion of this…I really like this compact Chrony.

This one is great for field work, I take it with me when I go to the farms for pesting.

Or I think you can get it and parts directly from them also, great customer service !

looks like an unfinished kit… the circuit board in plain sight without a case?
No need for thanks Larry. The Estonian bridge is far from the route from Czech so you’re safe. Which one did you get ??
Octavius and Ville, Thanks much for the information on the Air-Chrony it is just what I was looking for. I ordered one a few minutes ago, very easy until you get to the last page, must be in Czech? I managed to stumble through it, so it’s on the way, just hoping it does not need to cross the Estonian bridge.
Thanks also to all of you for who English is not your native language, it has been a big help to many air gunners like myself who only know English, some would say not well. 😕
Regards
LarryW 😎 🙄
I bought this from the get go and have had zero problems with it. I have the software, light kit, and printer all working perfectly every time I used it. I don’t know anything about their customer service though. http://www.competitionelectronics.com/product/prochrono-digital/
The greatest is usually what a person is using at the time 🙄
I had bad experience with both Shooting Chrony and Pro Chronograph.
Shooting chrony was expensive to get it working reliably with LED lights almost a necesity and a sanyo printer that crapped out after a year. They had a newer version out so I opted for an upgrade BUT they sent me the same shit version I had. It may be good for a year yet but I was pissed and bought the Pro Chronograph. It worked good with my notebook computer until my grandson knocked it off the tripod. So shit happens especially to me but I’m used to it. So I called Pro C… And must have gotten a new girl. She didn’t seem to understand the problem I had and didn’t offer to connect me to a real technician. I gave up and ordered a Caldwell Ballistic Precioion PREMIUM KIT. THERE IS NO LOOKING BACK ❗ It works great ❗
The only errors I get is when not aligned properly ❗ the invisible LEDs fooled me at first but at least have a red pilot light off to one side.
I did have a slight problem with the tripod head becoming loose so I epoxyed it.
Also the software needs an upgrade to save templates from one device to anothe. At present it does create a useful email format but a way to enter the data into a second device. The APP is available for Android and/or Apple.
I use it with both my iPhone and iPad.
Because it has a full front LCD Screen I don’t imagine it would survive a direct hit but It shouldn’t be a problem because we airgunners usually use a chrono up close to the muzzel. DON’T shoot a powder burner up close to a chrony because burning powere can leave marks on plastic including the front of the shooting chrony 😳
Oh, I got the Caldwell from MidwayUSA because of the very good service they have.
Don´t know about the barrel model, sorry. I have the tabletop and it´s the best Chrono i´ve ever had. Never misses a beat. http://www.air-chrony.com/en/
I was going to recommend Combro (which is good with excellent support but doesn’t work with bigbores) but that barrel attached model of air-chrony caught my attention. Does anyone know if it works with big silencers (50mm diameter) as well and does it disturb your view through the scope? Alternatively can you attach it horizontally and does it still work? Could the display be rotated to face the shooter?

Used Combro for several years and it´s very good when you want to know the power level but it´s a bit of PITA for strings. Good little device nevertheless.

I have the “tabletop” version and can verify it´s brilliant.
I like Zonks back stop, he’s shooting his neighbor’s house again. 😆

Some say shooting crony has shitty customer service but wouldn’t know it has always worked 4me. Pro crono I hear good stuff about too.
DO NOT GET A SHOOTING CRONY!!!! They have SHITTY Customer service. Mine went out the 2nd day I had it. Called them, they gave me the run around. I sent it in, 4 months later it came back with the same F-in problem. In the trash it went. Now I have a Pro Crono and it has worked perfectly for 4 years.
Key this Guy is from Czech Rep. and is very good guy. He accept PayPal and worlwide shiping.
Yes you can choose protection cover http://www.air-chrony.com/en/chrony-accessories/29-case-air-chrono-mk2.html With this cover it is very nice set. But big advantage is you never get Err message due to bad light condition. You can store couple of shot strings into the memory of chrony and recall it into the PC and make some graph etc…

I keep it a couple of cm from the “port”. It doesn’t matter as long as you keep it at the same spot for strings.
