The shorty shroud is very affective. .. let’s just say at 940 fps. The shorty muffler makes it the quiets gun at that caliber and speed I have ever shot. Very quiet!!!
just goes too show, how well the shorty shroud is working. 😯
i had saved a post from here on the sound level, that some 1 tested.
with their cricket compact, wanted too see, how the sound level was too the shorty taipan.
but i can’t find the dam thing!

Hey keyser…. You need to go to the local strip joint and get you some actors for your films… maybe Ledbetter can give you some help with the editing……
maybe later they’ll chime in……
I am going to agree with Soze… The Mutant Std is very easy shooting gun… the shorty is very subjective to movement… slightest movement is magnified.
But the shorty is very fun little gun. I find it more of a point and shoot type of gun.
the std is great at the bench or in the woods.
i feel they are equal in accuracy. but with shorty its not forgiving like the std.
Cant wait for the .25
Yeah hey Tony is it cool if I promote my YouTube channel here get tons of viewers from your forum then complain about how mean everyone is on TAG?
You’re headed down a dangerous path my friend. Soon you’ll have a youtube channel with thousands of followers. You know how that story ended…
Thanks Fudd, I knew I could count on you to have my back. I just got a video camera, I am going to attempt a review video soon
The short answer is yes. I had both at the same time. There is no difference in muzzle report according to my decimeter. Both ranged between 77 db and 79 db. The raw accuracy goes to the Standard because it has more FPE. I had my standard shooting ay 905 FPS with the 18.1. The Shorty is shooting 815 with the 18.1. This gives the shooter a better trajectory and better wind stabilization (although minor). The Standard has more muzzle weight which makes it easier to hold still.
That being said with a lot of practice I was able to pull of this 5 shot group at 50 yards with the shorty
only 1’s here that has had both is soze & jammie.
maybe later they’ll chime in……
