Q:

Shorty at 29 FPE….

so i had to go ahead and do some fuxing….. 820s with 18.1’s was just to slow for me. and i don’t want to be buy 10 different pellets for all my guns….

so they all eat 18.1’s …..

so i made a new plenum spacer for the regulated chamber that is a lot thinner walled. and looks like swiss cheese. This in turn should get me a higher velocity at a lower pressure. not sure how much it helped but i think it did.

Then i went ahead and turned the regulator from 145 bar up to 160.

did a little messing around with the HST…. probably could get a little better but this is what I’m getting now …

37 shots between 845 and 855…..

would a little bit longer hammer spring do the same 4 u?
or would that not be, in good harmony with the gun, & add too much stress on parts?
is one approach better than the other, with the shot string?
or does it matter that much, thats the path u when 4 in this case. 🙄

sounds good Jaime.
so enlighten me, how does having the spacer like swiss cheese do 4 the gun?

and what do u mean by, having the spacer like swiss cheese? 🙄
then i will be able too snatch the pebble from your hand.

So when it comes to regulating the air chamber needs to be a certain size Good rule of thumb is 1cc per FPE.

so if u don’t have that room then what happens is the volume wont be there so to increase the volume they turn up the Pressure.

anyhow cut a long story short the Reg chamber is tiny on these.

the spacer that sizes the regulator chamber has a wall thickness of around IDK may .100

so by going with a stronger alluminum and making it .040 Wall then drilling a bunch of holes through it like swiss cheese. it makes the chamber larger.

which in turn gives more Air pressure on tap ready to flow through the valve.

I haven’t venture into my Shorty yet.

Is the valve spring tension adjustable and if so does it affect to shot count ?

Thanks ~ Greg

It is not adjustable… Ernest played with it a little bit on his standard when he first got it… but he couldn’t do any better than the manufacture.

I believe he tried shimming…

Eitherway… these don’t require much if anything at all to get popping…

I think the Russian OOZe they put in the regulator is a little excessive but otherwise they are good.

Nice work Jaime !

Like to do that someday also …..
What was your ending pressure, 160 bar ?

~ Greg

Yes around there…..

I need to do a little more tweaking. but I’m gonna enjoy it for now….
