Leyla .25 Anyone have one of these.

I just got mine yesterday, It looks like 20 good shots might be about right but no chrony testing and this is better than expected so take that as a maybe until one of us gets a chance to shoot a bit more. I do not find it too loud at all but that is subjective for all to decide for themselves. Remember these little short guns are typically tunes slower than the longer barrels cousins so less air is less noise. That 20 shots is from 210 bar down to 110 bar as Ed’s specs say is the operating range. I have been shooting a Lelya 22 for over a year and it has become my favorite gun I think, hard to call. I do shoot it the most since owning it.

This is kind of a weird observation….. no very picky and weird…… but I find that when laying the .25 pellets into the tray when holding the gun muzzle lowered which seems like a natural position for me, the pellet acts nose heavy and kinda like a weeble and wants to roll up on it’s nose skirt to the sky and has to be corrected and pushed in the breech a bit before closing the bolt. This is alleviated by holding the gun level or nose up but due to the weight and balance of the .25 JSB pellets, it just is what it is. I do like shooting the bigger holes in stuff and the caliber suits me well in that respect. Will certainly make bigger splats out of smaller birds, more knock down power 🙂 and is for sure pretty cool. It will not be a gun I will ever sell.

With all that said I think the .22 caliber in the Lelya is more the perfect balance of pellet, shot count, knock down, and all around best choice for these guns. There may be a case for others that like the smaller calibers, 20 and 177 but I just don’t care for the small pellets and how they handle in my fingers so they are not a consideration for me, you will have to look to others for opinions on those.

The .25 leyla is a whole lot like having a big block in your 69 Camaro, you don’t need it, might not even be the best combination for the chassis but you just want it in there. All the time knowing that you are more likely to jump in the small block car to do your every day running.
