Q:

Affordable mil/mil scopes less than 500$ with good reticle

Are there any mil/mil scopes with a good reticle (lots of holdover) for an affordable price?

I really like the swfa 20×42 reticle but it is a fixed power scope, nice pricetag at 300$ too.

Any suggestions?

This is how the reticle looks like

+1 for the SWFA Classic scopes. I own the 16x with the excellent milquad reticle. Can’t beat the price for the rep, the reticle or the glass. My first fixed-magnification scope, and not one regret, except that I overlooked it for so long. See here:http://swfa.com/Classic-C12502.aspx check out and compare the reticles to other scopes out there (the images can be expanded, and the info is easy to read). select a Classic model (mildot or milquad) from the list, and once the information for that model pops up page down to the bottom and click the reticle. Read the reviews too.

checkout the new MTC EVX series…SFP & FFP to choose from, I ordered the 20x SFP about the same weight as the hawke TAC but better glass from my experience with both :5:

Just go with the SWFA, I have 2 and am very happy with them. They have good glass, the mil quad is awesome and the knobs have really nice clicks and return to zero. What more can you ask for?

Hawke varmint with a 1/2 mildot reticle is nice. I like mine. The aeon line of scopes are also very clear and precise. Bith are side focus ao.

Ffp’s aren’t all equal. I dropped a grand in a vortex 6-24 last year that was pure junk. If you go ffp stick with the top tier brands, and even with those you might be limiting yourself. I’d just go with the fixed 10x swfa. I’m pretty sure they use that reticle in the sf model @ $100 more than the 20x you posted.

Thanks, I should add that both sfp and ffp are accepted

Check out the BSA Tactical Mil-Mil Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 4-14x 44mm Side Focus 1/10 Mil Adjustments First Focal MRAD Reticle – this branded one is a MidwayUSA exclusive but the actual optic is sold under a couple private labels. It is a good entry level ffp scope.
